was a great show aside from the insane prices they now charge for food and booze out there.

Had tix to Charlotte last night. But PNC Pavilion failed miserably. Left S. CLT at 5PM, got to 1/2 mile from the venue and the car line started.

I waited 2+ hrs barely moving, only to find out all the lots were full. People driving like maniacs in the left lane (F all the oncoming drivers, I guess). I gave up and went home.

Cops said it was the worst traffic she's seen in 20+ years at PNC.

If you're going to see them, leave way early... Most of their shows are sold out.

I did ATL this past w/e (SUN night), and can confirm traffic was poorly handled - 1 hr. to travel 1/2 mile into the parking lot. I blame this on the idiots who hired 2 police to direct four-way traffic, and only 2 guys scanning parking passes. Shakedown St. was the busiest I've ever seen. People were lined up 4 deep just to buy/look at shirts from NOLA DEAD. LOTS of people with fingers up looking for a miracle. Never witnessed a single ticket being sold pre-concert as this is a very hard ticket to get. StubHub prices are out of control as buying a ticket is all about timing unless you have 3 bills to spend on the show.

IMO, having seen the band twice this year, they are better without Billy and playing at a faster tempo. Jay Lane is an animal on drums and killing it. Several highlights of the ATL show for me were: Samson & Delilah which is rarely played, a 16 min. Estimated Prophet, 23+ min. EYES that was mind-blowing, and a finale of Terrapin > Dew that was pushing 30 min. FYI - The GD only played Terrapin > Dew 3x's with each taking place in 1977. 1st Set was 1hr 18 minutes (8 songs) ... 2nd set was 2 hours (7 songs)

Set 1: Cassidy > Deal, Samson and Delilah, FOTD, It Hurts Me Too, Tn. Jed, If I Had the World to Give, Goin Down the Road Feelin Bad

Set 2: Althea, Estimated Prophet > China Cat > Rider, Eyes of the World > Drums > Space > Terrapin Station > Morning Dew

We went to St. Louis last year, and I thought that would be our last one, but now my 15 year old has seriously gotten into the Dead. So... it looks like we're headed to St. Loius again. I hate for him to miss probably his final chance to see them. I know too many people that still bemoan not seeing the Dead before Jerry died (I got to see them quite a few times back then), so I don't want my kid to have similar regrets.

Don't have tickets yet, but thinking they'll drop a bit the week of.

St. Louis show was same shite with traffic and such last year. The worst was trying to get into the actual show, with the line going all the way back to the back of the lot near Shakedown. We ended up missing the first couple of songs.

just checked stubhub for STL tix availability. Lawn GA are selling for $71. That ticket will not last long .... You should jump on that immediately - Like Yesterday !!! Pretty sure face value is close to $85, pushing over $100 after TT&L.

While we are on the subject thank God for actual CDs. I had about half a dozen various Dead CDs I hadn't gotten around to backing up on my hard drive and tonight I had a fantastic surprise. Every single music file I had stored on my hard drive was gone. That's probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 CDs worth of music and words do not describe how pissed I am but at least 99% is not completely lost. The exceptions being a 2 CD set of the Allman Brothers at SUNY Stony Brook in one of their last shows before Duane's death and the 3 CD set of Grateful Dead's 72 show in Lille, France. I lost both of those CDs while moving. I've got a hundred sets of Dead CDs alone, many of them four or more discs per set. This could have been a Hindenburg level of disaster for my music collection. And no, I have no fricking clue how this happened.
