Dinner? We never ate dinner at school when I was a kid. Are they going to be keeping the kids overnight for a trans drag queen bedtime story?
Does this reduce any planned or future reparations?

Democrats in the House and Senate proposed legislation this week that would give all students from pre-school through high school three free meals a day plus a snack regardless of income, a move they said is needed to cope with the "record numbers" of American kids who are struggling with hunger.

The bill makes no mention of how the program would be funded or what it would cost. Many bills include language saying that Congress will appropriate whatever money is needed to fund a new program, or that funding will come from spending offsets or higher taxes.

It is an international embarrassment that today, in the richest country in the history of the world, we are seeing record numbers of children and youth struggling with hunger on a daily basis," said Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., the sponsor of the Senate legislation.

Democrats say their bill, the Universal School Meals Program Act, would help put an end to the "school lunch shaming" that is seen under the current program, which requires kids to show they are eligible for a free meal.
quote:
Children have been publicly shamed for not being able to afford lunch, and as USDA reported, lunch shaming is a problem throughout the country, including withholding grades for school meal debt," according to a description of the bill. "Some schools resorted to heinous scare tactics to collect school meal debt; one school threatened to take away parents’ children and another school marked children’s skin with an ‘I Need Lunch Money’ stamp."

their goal is to just take your kids at a certain age and they become state property to program them as they please and you have no rights or oversight on any of it

Imagine being angry about feeding children

Why don’t they admit that the inflation democrats caused is the real reason kids are going hungry?
$80 to make fajitas at my house tonight. Ridiculous.

"It takes a village" was always far left propaganda.
President BIden said just the other day they are not "your children" at school.

When we are already giving these children's parents welfare, foodstamps, section 8 housing, and several other government subsidies then yes, I do become angry about feeding them.
Enough is enough

Programs are in place to feed kids. There is no need for any kid in this country to go hungry.
Why are we enabling child neglect by parents?

If they truly cared about feeding their own kids, they'd cancel all their subscription services, sell their $40,000 car for a $2,000 beater that gets from A->B, and sell their $800 cell phone and use a landline, take advantage of scholarships and free classes at their local community college to learn a trade that will put food on the table
But they wont... because they truly do not care about their kids... only about themselves
ANY person could walk into a production facility and say the want a job and are willing to clean floors and take out trash with the hope of learning a trade, and they'd get a job that day
Some people have learned the mentality of sticking one hand out while asking for money, and sticking the other hand out while flipping the middle finger
That is reality.. I deal with it every day

Funny story. My first day at a pretty rough public Jr high school, coming from Catholic school, the home room teacher asked who wanted to sign up for free lunch. Being totally ignorant of what that meant I raised my hand, because my thinking was “why would anyone actually pay for lunch they could get for free”. I got free lunch for half of my 7th grade year before my folks finally found out. Shows you how easy that was to get. Middle class kid with two college grad parents getting a free lunch.

There’s not a starving child in this country. Quite the opposite.

As a teacher who has cafeteria duty all the time, the kids are just going to throw it away. They dislike most of what we feed them. It looks gross
