I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but I just figured out with about 8 lightroots to go in the Depths... most of the Schema Stones you receive at the Abandoned Mines/refineries teach you what's needed with Autobuild to get the chest in that area.

I went ahead and progressed the story a little last night. And I know I've said it like 3 times already, but this games plot is soooooo much better with a villain thats actually engaging vs botw.
He's not Wind waker Gannondorf for me yet, but he's getting there.

So I found out that you can drop a Travel Medallion between Coliseum battles and pick up with the mob/wave you left off on. I'm sure the Blood Moon clears this.
I got rocked by the Silver Lynel in the Floating Coliseum in the Depths and was fully prepared to abandon that one. Had to jet out, load up on Sunny Greens and other healing food and keep chipping away at the next ones.

I don't want to finish the game yet. I've completed the 4 regional phenomena and my next main quest is to go to Hyrule Castle to find Zelda. Can I do that without beating the game? I've been holding off on going in there because I don't want to finish yet. Just didn't want to really know how close I am to finishing.

I was stuck and looked something up and accidentally saw the step you are talking about. I am glad I did, because it made me realize it was not the final dungeon/battle. If I didn't see that online, I may have avoided the quest all together.

The Lynel coliseum can truly and most sincerely frick ALL THE WAY OFF. I finished it, but damn if that wasn't the most grueling fight in the game to this point.

So what do I need to fuse to any given weapon to maximize its durability? I just dove down to the mainland for the first time and ran to Puras village but I'm in a world of shite when it comes to weapons.
For whatever reason these 20 amibo cards aren't giving me any at all.

I read a while ago that ALL fuses give the same durability boost. So if it's just durability you're after, any fuse will do. This only counts with the first fuse though. You can't repeatedly stack durability through additional fuses.
In the very early going I would suggest you fuse like items (shield-shield, sword-sword, etc) just to help manage inventory space and to gather some materials. By the time you get to where the game first nudges you to go, you should have enough mob drops and maybe a gem or two to start experimenting.

Spears will give you a chance to fuse something else to the tip, as those materials will break first, unlike swords and hammers which break all at once.

Anyone else find themselves with the Mining Gear being their highest DEF armor? I'm running around the overworld looking like something from a HR Giger fever dream

I basically just use the sheika armor for stealth, and flip to the fierce diety armor if I go into combat. The Aor of the Wild ended up being my highest defense Stat set, but there might be better ones out there.

That 6-wheeled ATV they have you build for the Rakakudaj Shrine quest to take the stone up the river is legit. That one's getting Favorited in Autobuild.

Reminder: There's no penalty for using the Gloom Sword/Club/Bow outside of the Depths, since the Gloom damage goes away on the surface world.
