CNN’s leadership is preaching patience even though thousands of viewers are abandoning the network during its attempted turnaround, with no indication yet whether it will be rewarded.

Cable news ratings are down across the board compared to 2022, when Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was fresh in the news. CNN’s dip is most dramatic — 61% in prime time in March, with Fox News Channel down 27% and MSNBC off by 12%, according to the Nielsen company.

Fox averaged 2.09 million viewers in prime time in March, with MSNBC at 1.14 million and CNN at 473,000, Nielsen said. In the key 25-54 age demographic for advertisers, CNN is seeing some of its lowest numbers in decades.

Fox averaged 2.09 million viewers in prime time in March...

MSNBC at 1.14 million

CNN at 473,000

That's CW's Batwoman series numbers.

Also if I remember correctly, at one time a few years ago, FOX News was avg 3.5 million

The national media has lost mainstream America and I love it!

I remember when this network was the WB, and it’s hit show was Dawson’s Creek.

Half of that number probably came from Airports and airport restaurants & bars.

Fox's #s can be helped out here to as they started a push to take over airport contracts years ago.

What would be interesting is to compare the advertisers on each. Does CNN only get gold and old people ins ads? I'd say my pillow but I'm sure CNN and MSNBC wouldn't allow that.

The government is propping up CNN. They’re so obviously a propaganda machine.

If all 24 hours “News” outlets viewing ratings are above 1 it’s too much.

Probably the biggest problem in America today is 24 hour “News” channels.

If you break it down, only 1% of our national population watches CNN, MSNBC and FOX news DURING PRIMETIME

1%!!!

They are a non-factor anymore

That’s what they deserve

It also shows you how polarized the US is. Neither side trusts the networks despite them supposedly kowtowing to the supposed interests of the left and right. ALL MSM has proven is they care more about the bottom dollar and use bias to get there. The problem is when a litmus test were administered on both sides - all were exposed.

I think it's obvious the major broadcast and cable news channels are being paid by the Corporatocracy to spew whatever propaganda is given to them....they do not have enough viewers to justify the advertising revenue they are receiving.

Miss early days CNN. Ted Turner would never be mistaken for a conservative but back in those times, CNN at least tried to appear even-handed and present both sides. They even had a pretty damn good late night sports show to compete with pre-woke ESPN Sports Center.

Their old Headline News channel wasn’t bad either.

Nowdays, we have a plethora of 24/7 “news” channels. Most are propaganda outlets for the DNC but if you want Establishment GOPe spin you can turn to Fox News.

The real losers in this devolution of “news” are all of us. A lot of bullshite to filter through to try and find simple facts by which to make up your own mind.

Corporate American Pravda sucks.
