Who posted that Dugas should be replaced or put lower in the batting order?

The poster who wrote that was simply suggesting taking the pressure off of Gavin until he got it together. I don’t think that was shameful.

Even when hurt and struggling, Dugas still gets HBP. He is a magnet for the baseball.

If Dugas can get it going again this lineup is a terror for opposing pitchers, and we don’t kick it around nearly as much as I thought we would pre-season.

I thought he made some good contact right at people over the weekend.

Bet he gets hot and tears Auburn up this weekend.

Team is 4-11 Southland conference.

This game was for Guidry. Period. Underarmed - why did we bring this kid on? What are they seeing?

Are you asking why Guidry was brought in? If so, that’s a dumb question. He was the #1 ss in the state of Louisiana and recruited to play the infield. His pitching is icing on the cake and a much needed addition to our bullpen consider the injuries. Under armed? Kid throws 90+, nasty off speed pitches, and has more control than some of our players that were recruited as pure pitchers. Imagine if he were to transition to pitching full time and got an off seasons work to better his game.

I honestly think he should be moved down in the order but only if he and Morgan switched spots. I thought it would actually help Morgan more than Dugas. In the 5-6 games Morgan lead off, he just looked to be a better hitter. I think it would help Dugas to see more pitches as well with Crews behind him.

In out of conference games, he’s great, against SEC teams, not so much. Look it up

Ever time some one says that about a player it backfires

It might have been me. Not sure.,But against SEC pitching, he’s not getting it done. I love Dugas,,but SEC vs SLU is not the same.,

He has the second highest OBP on the team among regulars

His obp is 60 points higher than Tommy White’s.

How is he not getting it done? The guy is on base all the time.

His babip in SEC play is 212. So for the batting average gazers (first, I pray for you) he has been getting unlucky on balls put in play and should hopefully have some positive regression

In sec only games dugas has a higher on base percentage higher than morgan, white, beloso, jobert, milazzo, neal, travinski, jones, thompson, and kling.

Basically the only guys with higher obp are crews and pearson….and for pearson its just barely. So you sure about this?

Because he gets hit. He’s hitting 0.197 with only 12 hits. He has 24 Ks. He’s striking out nearly 40% of his ABs.

Its a skill

Also, you failed to mention his walks which are also up there

Also helps that 5 of those 12 hits are homers, tied for 3rd most of the starters

All of which came in the first 4 weeks. He’s 4 for his last 26.

The number one trait for a lead off hitter is getting on base. Dugas does that.

That’s the point I was waiting for someone to bring up while reading this thread

Dude had the most hr in sec play one year and that’s not gone . He could get hot (like he may be doing )and be that guy again
