Cuse — can you help with flight from Madrid to Paris? Anyone?

Daughter is going to Spain to study abroad. She going to Paris June 2/5.
Any tips on booking the cheapest? She is trying to plan too much as once and is getting flustered.
Figured someone here might have any guidelines?

She can fly direct for as low as $165 (although the cheapest flight on the 25th of June is at 0600. Change the search to the proper date, and you'll see it.) There are later direct flights that cost $350ish, and some that cost over $1k and have a travel time longer than taking the train (TGV or Renfe, don't get stuck taking "local" trains to save a few bucks and make the journey massively longer.)
Not sure why the stress, it's not a big deal.

Google Flights is your best bet here. Goof luck on pricing. I shelled out over $400 for two One-Way tickets from Brussels to Rome last month on a flight that's typically half the price. Europe is expensive this summer

I think that’s why she’s stressing. We paid for her flights to Spain .. she’s paying for her trip/tuition/spending money.
We paid what scholarships didn’t cover (out of state so we had some. Not covered) and sorority. I keep telling her it’s a once in a life month long trip .. she’s saved it all but having a hard time letting it go.

When we fly here I book Through airlines sites as opposed to Expedia etc. does it matter there or still book direct in the event of cancellations/delays etc and getting help?

If you're booking with a Ryanair/EasyJet/Tansavia/etc. expect about the same as a Spirit/Frontier here. Looking at the dates, Air Europa is the closest full service carrier operating that route (member of SkyTeam) and has a couple flights a day. Looks like about $240 RT

Please, please, please do not let her book through OTAs like Expedia. This especially goes for hotel rooms.
The airline/hotel essentially can't do crap for her, the OTA (nearly entirely India based customer service) becomes the middleman for *anything* that needs to be changed or modified with any kind of reservation. Even if she's standing at the boarding gate, the gate agent can't do anything for her, the OTA (Expedia, etc.) has to call the airline/hotel. Then, if there is any change in price, the original virtual card has to be cancelled, a new one issued, and run by airline/hotel before she gets any relief. OTAs do not save you money. Use Google Flights/ITA Matrix/Rome2Rio to find the plane/train/ferry that you want to book, and book it directly.
There is an entire forum for hospitality/travel workers on Reddit, and dealing with issues caused by Expedia, etc., are posted EVERY DAY. As a dad, this is exactly how you get panicked calls at 1AM your time when she's not able to board a flight.

Ryan Air is the cheap airline that serves throughout Europe so I'd check them first. Iberia Air is the Spanish airline and its main hub is in Madrid so they will have tons of options.

We never do and I assumed it was the same when overseas BUT wanted to make sure.
She had to book a flight from Memphis to Atlanta ... her friend booked through Expedia and when my dtr sent me the link, I was like OH HELL NO go to the airline directly.

This is excellent advice. Booking through these services gives you zero leverage with the airline or hotel.

Google flights is one of the better sites to use and its free. But I don't believe Ryan air the Euro budget airline and maybe some other budget options are on there? But there's Iberia Express tickets for as low as $207/ round trip but that's at night on the 2nd.
