Shortly after the dance floor opens at a wedding, I’ll retire the jacket and sport this look for a 15-20 minute window before the tie comes off and sleeves get rolled up.

Aside from that, I’m never in a shirt and tie without a jacket.

I hated it when I was in customer service in the aviation world.
Couldn’t stop at the grocery store on way home without having shoppers assuming I was the manager.

Wearing a jacket when you aren't cold is better?

Is the shirt long-sleeved or short-sleeved? It makes a difference.

It makes no difference.

Short sleeve with a tie is pretty much for idiots.

Tell your boyfriend to wear a jacket if it offends you.

Wasn’t the “fly the happy skies” badge a tip off?

Try wearing a red shirt to a Target store

Its more common in the South because people dont want to deal with wearing a jacket when they go outside to their car or whatever.

I don't tend to care as long as people are trying to dress nice. I might have a problem with it if they were wearing cargo pants, though.

I do it all the time including today when it was too hot to wear a jacket.

I don’t care for the look. My daily work wear is jacket with no tie but I have one client I visit that jacket is optional and tie is mandatory to enter their building. Seems a bit silly to me, if I’m wearing a tie the jacket is going on too.

frick a jacket. It's too damn hot down here

Nice sentiment, but I can't show up to clients like that. No tie? Cool. No jacket? I'm getting pulled aside, anywhere in the world.

They key is to know your fabrics and suit construction. Unlined, no tight weaves, natural fabrics on the jacket, and it becomes the least of your problems. I've sweat through the both sides of my collar and a f*@ing tie and the jacket was not the issue.

The issue is that the men's stores will stock anything and everything they're told to, so the store in Laffy gets nearly the same inventory as they sell in Grand Rapids. Always, always, always buy summer weight jackets/suits. You can always layer up, but you can only pack so many sweat rags in your jacket/bag to deal with the aftermath if you buy a generic suit with a lining. 220s fabric means dudes think they're buying luxury or some crap. If you live in Scotland, OK.

Do you see how you can see through the suit (against light) on the model here:

That's the kind of jacket I wear. I'm not doing a deep dive now, but I'm guessing that's a Havana wool jacket. That's 100% what I rock.

No, not gay, but I am a sweaty MF'er.
