It seems like most of the races between two or more “conservative” candidates the more liberal candidate wins. Are conservatives in BR just more “status quo” type and the more conservative ones either moved to LP or AP? I know the area has a lot of older voters and “suburban moms”. Just a genuine question

There are very few conservatives in Louisiana. It is a purple state with most of the red leaning closer to big government populism.

There’s folks who bus people to the polls here en masse. Getting elected here is a shell game. Pick a political position who’s election is on some off weekend and you might have a chance but don’t bet on it.

A lot of old 1960s LSU hippies in BR, who have become everything they once professed to loathe. They tend to compensate by voting along more liberal lines.

It’s not just the suburban moms and old voters, but it’s also the plaintiff’s attorney who seek to elect anyone who will refuse to advance any form of tort reform.

BR area is flooded with about 40-50% hard left Dems. Hard for anyone to get a foothold to the right of that, in part because a lot of groups have institutionalized Dem turnout programs into local government.

I used to think middle to upper class Lefties were just in Spanish Town. Large university and having a state government in the same city can influence elections

LSU and our city government has gone woke. There’s no turning back.

Leaves a lot of room for the dead vote.

You don’t realize, as most don’t, how ACCURATE this statement is.

Leaning? You're insane. It's hardcore nanny state populism and has been for at least 30 years (in my experience, in reality it's been that way for at least a century), top to bottom. This extends from Fun-roe to New Orleans, Lake Charles, Alexandria, and just about every major area except for *possibly* Bossier City. Laffy is too drunk to care.

Louisiana is worse than Illinois and New York, except the lefties in LA generally realize gun control is off the table if they want to get elected. They can talk about all the CRT, "new programs," "insurance reform," all they want and women and baws will just explain it away because their boating license will cost less or some horseshite.

Means only the people with a true vested interest in the outcome came out to vote. Typically judgeships make for a big yawn
