I'm sure they will bring in someone but I'm excited to see whe Lucas Krull and Miller Forrister do with this opportunity. Both just needed weight room time and a little coaching in being aggressive in the blocking game.

We don’t want any of these guys playing the 500+ snaps that Trautman logged last season. Gotta think we look for a trade or just hope someone decent gets cut

I can see them getting someone on a vet minimum deal to be the blocking TE. Someone like Geoff Swaim or Tyler Kroft. Cameron Brate would be nice but he’s really more of a receiving guy and we have that with Johnson and Taysom. I could also see them just elevating Lucas Krull also. The only way a difference making guy will be had is by trade. Maybe they find someone after roster cutdowns in camp. Johnson and Hill will 90% of the TE snaps though even though they said they were ending the TE thing with him I still think they will put him out there as a receiver at times. We will see more OL eligible plays than 2 TE sets. That could be where they play Saldiveri this year to get him snaps unless Penning doesn’t beat out Hurst for LT.

Gesicki is a meh blocker though. Feel like too much overlap with JJ.

Gesicki signed with the Patriots. I say bring back Dan Arnold on a 1 yr deal.

With the glut of TE's coming out of the draft there should be a pretty good sample size of Vet TE's available between now and training camp looking for greener pastures.

Don't see much out there unless a trade.
I think barring crazy improvment by Krull and or the blocking TE from bamer we picked up we will wait for the big release day before game 1.

I think Maxx Williams or Kyle Rudolph make a lot of sense. Veteran guys who can block and catch a pass if needed
