Thoughts on Evil Dead Rise

My thought process through the movie:
Ok, I see what they’re doing. Interesting. Whoa dude. HOLY shite THATS METAL AS frick.
And I usually don’t quite thing that way.
Anyway, I do think this movie rises well to being an evil dead movie and it succeeds in being its own thing in the universe while fitting in nicely. It’s definitely not a comedy like Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness but it is quite funny in a lot of places.
It does start kinda slow. But it really ramps up the tension. I felt it did a good job of making being things scary. Because what can you do against deadites when trapped in an apartment with ash it for resources.
Lily Sullivan I think is the main actor. She’s fricking amazing in this.
Overall very pleased with this one

Did anyone else see this?

I saw it at Overlook Film Fest on April 7th. I thought it was good. The opening scene was very heavy on the nostalgia which i liked.

I’m in the theater now and this couple has their 4-6 year old child in here

Wow.
People are idiots. When I saw the first Scream reboot, this lady next to us brought 4-5 kids all younger than 10.
That movie wasn't Evil Dead, but it was violent as shite

I remember a new born was brought to the chucky reboot from a couple of years ago.
That whole crowd sucked. I watched that entire movie standing up because I didn’t want to sit next to some people

This movie is what nightmares are made of but it’s so much fun at the same time. I’ve never seen so much blood in my life.
I will never go to another weekend night showing at a theater ever again. I don’t understand why a certain group of people can’t just sit there and enjoy the movie without flapping their gums the whole time and frick that couple that brought a 5 year old kid to this. He’s going to have nightmares for years

It was an Evil Dead movie. I enjoyed it, but it delivered as expected.

Anyone know of a legit streaming site with it showing in good quality?

It’s still in theaters so it’s not streaming yet

Go see this in a theater. It’s really good and you’ll have a great time. It’s worth a few bucks.

I'm an old man and have no idea what this means.
I did enjoy the movie however. It was a modernized horror, but didn't lose the campiness I love in 70s/80s horror.

My dad took me and my brother see Hellraiser at the theater in 87.

Yeah, my parents took me to several horrors when I was young, but I'm not sure which side of the argument that falls on.

Haha same. No major damage seems to have been inflicted.
