I’ve read multiple threads alluding to him coming across as pretty unlikable on there. Very brief cliffs on what kinda stuff he was saying?

It’s not so much what he said. It’s his attitude. He just comes off as unlikable. Just a huge douche.

I’m the opposite. I never liked Brooks, but came away from Full Swing just feeling bad for the guy.

His Netflix appearance was basically just an hours long cry for help. Admitted he’s depressed. He has a self-centered, count of a wife that’s only with him because he’s a famous golfer and I think that gets to him. He’s trying to work on his game and she’s worried about how she can get on the cover over sports illustrated.

Came away just feeling bad for the guy

I read all the comments then watched his episode and didn’t agree with the comments. Felt bad for the guy. Glad to see he’s found his way again

He comes off as almost suicidal, the scene where he’s just sitting there staring into space by his pool with her snuggled up on him trying to take selfies is tough.

I agree with others if anything you feel bad for the guy

Brooks is polarizing because he kind of has this "jock" persona and he was the baddest dude in the game for 3-4 years. That works when you're successful, but really backfires when you struggle. And the Netflix episode happened to be at a time when he was really down on himself and makes it easy for those who don't like him to pile on.

He borders on the confidence/arrogance line and rarely shows vulnerability so it was sort of unique to see that. He was struggling mentally with where his game was and his wife being the typical fake, trophy wife type of woman had to be wearing on him.

Bumping this one. Just started watching Full Swing. Tony Finau is my new favorite golfer.

They are having a kid now though so that will fix everything

He whined like a kid not getting his way.

I have a lot more respect for Brooks after watching the show.

He didn’t shy away or phone it in at all - he was honest and refreshing unlike most pro golfers who are robots when the camera is on them.

he was honest

Him pretending like he didn’t know who won the Masters seemed very honest

I joke, but I do think there are times where he comes across as honest and genuine which I appreciate. I just also think there are times where he comes across a little bit too much as a try hard.

I just see him as a “bro” - they try hard and come off as douchey by nature
