Regarding BRICS Moving Away from the US Dollar as the World Reserve Currency

How does China get away from the fact that the US consumes most of its exports by long shot. That would seem like the biggest hurdle.

China thinks/acts in decade time frames, not a couple of years.

Why? It's not like US businesses nor consumers look long-term enough to sacrifice lower prices for economic stability (and eventually national security).

Order all us citizens and companies home. It will hurt, but hurt them and their population even worse. They may nuke us tho

Are we going to quit buying things like medicine to boycott?

Timelines don’t bother Authoritarian leaders when they’ve got such a stranglehold on the structure

China doesn't they are playing a shell game with Russia and pounding Russia's ppop chute the entire time.
FWIW, not just the USA but EU as well.
Half the crude oil from Exxon's Guyana FPSO goes to Europe, none to China. China is 25% partner with Exxon in this field. China is a partner with quite a few oilfields in the USA and Canada.
We could all remember that 99+% of journalists and media talking heads are clueless and never really dig into details. They just want headlines that can generate views and ratings. It matters next to nothing if they seem right wing, left wing or middle of the road.

First, they know we can’t and won’t live without Chinese goods. We’re too soft on a personal level and too greedy on a corporate level. This goes for Europe too. In fact, the EU just admitted last week that they cannot survive without China.
Second, China is shifting more trade to Russia, India, the Middle East, South America, Asia, and Africa and are outmaneuvering us in diplomacy in these areas.
Third, they know the Chinese people are tougher than we are as a people.
Fourth, they know American politicians are corrupt and can be bought.

I don't think the "brics" is intentionally trying to topple the US. they are just offering an alternative. most countries that trade in US dollars have guarantee of shipment safeties via our blue water Navy. China is willing to offer shipping security and insurance.
Brics wants to base their currency off commodities like oil, uranium, agricultural products, rare earths minerals. The US can still operate on its rainbow imperialism agenda. meaning if you're not LGBTQXYZ friendly you will get regime changed and the beautiful US made missiles will destroy your cities.
Brics on the other hand offers trade agreements without the baggage of guaranteeing Muh female empowerment and rainbow flag waving propaganda.

This is why China is on the move around the world. They look to continue growth while possibly losing American market. Their influence has increased multi-fold in last 10 years. Either their presence catapults them or the lack of it makes these 3rd world countries worse off. Either way China has to at this point because their home front has problems of great proportions

As long as the U.S. remains one of the top economies in the world, people will still want dollars.
