Saw somewhere they took him off. Why?

He’s at liv. Just struggling right now.

The ‘watch every shot’ option on masters.com this year is amazing.

I went through every shot Bryson hit the past two days. He’s struggling with irons. Missing a lot of greens long. Didn’t make anything putt wise either.

He also had a terrible break on 15. Hit a perfect shot that nailed the pin and threw the ball in the water.

So much for it being a “par 67” course lol

Golf is a weird sport. He was arguably the best player in the world not even 3 years ago and now you barley hear about him.

Not that it’s the best barometer, but I’ve watched some of his YouTube matches, and his iron play is not what you’d expect from a guy who was a top 10 player in the world not that long ago.

Ya, I do enjoy his YouTube. A lot of those matches are purely entertainment. In tournament play his putter can be deadly. I don’t think I’ve seen him sink a 20 footer playing against some D1 kid. Then he would go to the Players, last PGA win, and knock ‘em down at 40 and 50ft.

All that bulking and speed training caught up with him. Basically, broke his wrist. Said at the time it was a ping-pong accident at the Saudi tournament, but who knows. He’s definitely slimmed down since.

I I’m on record as saying I think it’s possible to hit the ball too far.

The sweet spot on tour seems to be the 315-330 range. If you can consistently get it in there it doesn’t seem to require these guys to bulk up or go crazy on the speed training.

What Bryson was doing was short term advantages but never sustainable. He’d have to train at a crazy pace to maintain those gains.

It is crazy that IF you can hit it 290 on average, you are “short.”

I dream of 250. These guys are just amazing.

There were still some irons into 13 after moving tee back 35 yards.

I’m against “rolling the game back.” It’s literally so few golfers in the world that have that rare skill.

I notice some of the shortest par 3s really wreck there rounds sometimes. 12 at Augusta, 7 at Pebble Beach. Lengthening course will not hurt the “big hitters.”

Is he still playing with all of the iron’s at the same length? I always thought that this would make his approach shots and chips awkward or inconsistent.

The ball rollback aka making it more skinny would further refine who has that elite skill. Off center strikes now do not get penalized as if everyone was playing balatas.

As long as I can game my low compression Supersoft, Wilson Duo, or Titleist Tour Soft, I’ll probably not worry about it.

That’s not what he said. And every player should want to play it as if it is a par 67 if they want to win. I am always so perplexed why people got so bent out of shape by that statement. Players tell the media what number they want to hit every single week.

You can’t tell the difference in:

“it is a par 67” and Bryson saying. “I’m looking at it as a par 67?”

Figures.

He was giving a number. Happens literally every week. Good lord LIV has turned you all dumb.

Its the exact same thing. Saying you play the course as a par 67 is braindead. That means your target score for the week is -20 or better

He said he viewed it as a par 67. If he’s averaging 74, then it’s not really a par 67.

I agree that the comments are slightly out of context, but it at the very minimum means his view of what his par should be is very off around Augusta.

No shite. I agree completely. Which is why he was obviously saying his number was 67. He couldn’t even come close to hitting it that year or many years after. I just don’t get the outrage. Golfers give their numbers weekly.

Tiger literally used to do this all the time.

Directly state things like ‘My number for todays round us XX.’ Or ‘I’m thinking it’s gonna take XX under to win.’

Sometimes you hit your goal and sometimes you don’t. I really don’t see what Bryson said as that much different than what almost every other pro says.
