2-run deficit in the 3rd and he elects to accept an L so that he can save pitching for a double header?

You dumb computer jockey / tech arse is nothing but a Pawl Fan. I found some shitty little threads you started trying to defend all of the pitching injuries and have zero knowledge on the topic.
Hey everyone look at this wall of text this a-hole wrote to defend Pawl when LSU was going through the arm issues.
Have you noticed him writing the same for Jay? Like how Jay has lost 2 critical arms this season?

I'm not excusing some of the other breakdowns in the way lsu is coached but so many people seem to be confused and not believe pm when he says some of these pitchers are coming to lsu with pre existing conditions/problems...here is what he means...I see this shite all the dam time... Let me tell you even in high school, when a kid reaches high school or college for that matter, when a kid has any type of issue "arm wise", i can promise you 150 percent that it will be exposed when he joins a real team with real correct formative stages to each position when it comes to throwing drills etc, esp pitching that emphasizes stretching, short toss into long toss, constant near daily long tossing, bullpen etc, live batter workouts that occur over a period of weeks or months not in 3 days where soreness and injuries occur. The said pitcher will rehab injury or soreness and do it again without proper things that need to surround that pitcher first. I can tell you that usually at some point the injury or arm problem will come out. I can also tell you that when "taught right" a kid who pitches for example should not even see the mound for the first 6 weeks of training at least, first to build up properly but what kids do and coaching wanna bees do is have kids in summer leagues of any kind just show up and throw, and throw hard. Eventually, this is where the arm issue begins, coupled with doing it year round and no break and no correct training regimen. There is no stretching half the time, no proper long toss for so many minutes a day, no "conditioning" paired with the throwing/toss afterwards etc. Here is a big one, they jump right into "the bull pen" without "several weeks" of first just having good stretching, long toss to limber(is this a word) the arm, lots of conditioning and weights tied in to rehab what is broken down during a throwing session. I cannot say enough how important "proper mechanics" of throwing toss and even pitchers mechanics for weeks and weeks first before actually hitting your bullpen workouts are also a science within itself. So before all this mentioned above, when a baseball player especially a pitcher isn't receiving constant "rehab" for his arm meaning teaching correct techniques, not enough lead up workouts(for ex, long toss only using a change up grip, for less stress in beginning on arm and shoulder before u use the regular grip), no conditioning(for ex. all pitchers should have to condition(16 poles for ex.) after any type of throwing session whatever their regimen is every single day), weights daily and doing the correct lifts, being taught proper mechanics(toss and pitching for ex). When a pitcher doesn't have a proper coach to make positive these things are occurring or surrounding a pitcher, he will break down, it will happen. Some hide it on the way to lsu but the problem comes right out in a regular program of arm routines for throwing and pitching because their arms are not accustomed to correct long term work...the issue sticks out like a sore thumb. When the problem comes out in the "first" year of college ,100 percent guaranteed that's what the problems is. A real baseball coach understands exactly what I'm saying. PM may have his share of flaws but I believe him when he says the kid shows up that way and the issue comes out diring their regimens...facts....see it all the time This post was edited on 6/14 at 2:56 pm

NONE OF THAT ARE FACTS MORON. It is speculation by someone who never pitched - I DID for 10 years before playing in college.
None of that is further from the truth.

Take your geritol and try to relax bro. It will be okay. Stop trying to make narratives that just arent true. Go tell your neighbor what a great pitcher you were back in the day.

Ftr i never defended pawl as you put it. I said i understand when he was talking about arm problems coming to lsu. Blaming jay on tonight is clearly justified. He quit on his team after the 3rd inning by using scrubs instead of fighting down by 2 runs. If you defend that, well i dont know what to tell you old man.

I am very aware of the desire to limit the usage of top relievers in a deficit, but that was way too early, in my humble opinion, to basically use an inning eater approach to the game. You know this team is going to score runs. They weren't even having a real good game and still put up 5. A winnable total, if the pitching had been more competitive.

I have 2 great grandsons that both are pitchers. One is pitching in high school now and has played year round since age 10. The science and technology in his organization is ALL ABOUT ARM CARE and has been since 10. His younger brother is 11 pitching 12U but he also catches and plays 3rd. What do they do? Toss, long toss, run, run run like I did when growing up.
All that wall of text is for backwoods kids MAYBE and not elite pitchers like LSU has coming from elite programs.
They MEASURE EVERYTHING today in youth baseball. They limit pitches, innings, and teach proper stretching. I’ve watched it.

Everyone says save save save for tomorrow but who said we were gonna lose "today" after the 3rd inning on 2 hits down 3-1? We will never know of course. Evidenlty, all these plugs defending jay down 3-1 after the 3rd inning knew we were going to lose right? Goes to show and proves that their experience in playing real baseball is shite. Understanding what he was trying to do and what was the right thing to do are two different things. Not one of his players wanted to concede that game after the 3rd inning. Not one. Sad.

Jay was not going to throw a top end reliever unless we had the lead. He gambled and it didn’t work. It happens. He was probably hoping that we take the lead or tie it in the top of the 4th and he could have gone to some combination of Edwards, Cooper and herring. It didn’t happen, and we can’t afford to burn those arms with a double header tomorrow. The zone tonight probably had something to do with it as well. Even with top end arms out of the pen, you were not going to hold SCAR with the tight zone.
You can disagree with the reasoning, but it’s pretty clear Johnson’s plan.
