No. We settled for CJ after not getting Fox. The Kings wanted Sabonis and we tried to work a 3 way for Fox, but Indy wanted Haliburton, not our picks.

This seems similar to the we could have gotten Tatum/Brown and picks for AD but chose not to. Neither of these were possible. We did well to get what we did in both trades.

Sounds like we never have enough. Same thing with the Vanderbilt and Beasley trade, I think we’re not meeting what they’re asking for

In both cases, we didn't have what they were looking for.

We didn't have a $24 mil Conley salary that was needed to get in that deal.

Traditionally the Pacers have been a franchise that doesn't tank. It was/is an organizational philosophy for years. They would rather dwell in mediocrity than take a current Rockets like approach. They weren't interested in picks and we didn't have anyone as good to offer as Haliburton. And if we did have someone that good, we sure wouldn't be trading him.
