Will history record April 4, 2023 as the day the US became a Banana Republic?

There's been a lot of disgusting and embarrassing firsts for the US the past 7 years but is this day the official moment in history where the US is no better than Venezuela? Brazil? Mexico? I think it is.

These issues have existed for decades. It's just that poor people felt the brunt of the system and that ignorance fueled a near cult-like adoration of police and prosecutors for the non-poor.

This is a systemic issue. The sad part is you're still defending it with the perfect example of "if they can do it to him, they can do it to you". For some reason you believe you're safe from it, or that you were ever safe from it

People will only wake up when something affects their day to day life. Our money could possibly hyper inflate in the next couple weeks. If that happens then the majority of Americans will call these bums out.
