Istrouma had some beef on the line last year. Didn’t have a whole lot else.

Honest question--can a bunch of inner city kids connect with an old white guy who is 20 years removed from his coaching glory days?

Is he that old? I’m not sure of his age but if I were to guess, I would think think he is late 50’s maybe early 60’s.

He is actually 59. I thought he was older. But he is 20 years past his last state title. Besides 1 semifinal at Central, he really didn't do anything of note.

Maybe he just wants to help mold young minds and isn't focused on winning again. But Istrouma seems like it would be a difficult place to drop to.

He made a run at Central when he had Briscoe boys and kids grandfathered in when Central got school system. He quit on the team the year all those players graduated. Then came back when better talent was on team a few years later. His teams always were penalized for unsportsman conduct. Is he going to attend practice. Heard that was some of the beef from parents who helped run him out of Central.

Woody Jenkins is an alum of the school. Wouldn't be surprised if he helped make this happen.

The demographics won't be Redemptorist, but Sid pulled plenty of inner city kids through that school.

Is Istrouma still magnet?

I think the answer is clearly no. He’s a mayosapien. A ranch raccoon. An Alfredo assassin if you will.

the entirety of my Istrouma is seeing them win state vs LaGrange a couple years after I graduated.
istrouma won. they ran the only single wing I ever saw in high school. at the time Tennessee was the only major program running single wing.

and props to the istrouma band that game.
high energy. best i saw in a high school game.

Black folks love a winner like anyone else. I wish Sid the best. 70805 needs some good news.
