If you’re downtown:
Range Restaurant inside the Renaissance Hotel. Get the flat-iron with red chimichurri. Great old fashions too. Get it made with a local rye. Maybe the best steak I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Seriously.
Elway’s inside the Ritz Carlton has an awesome bison chili. The bone-in NY Strip is very good as well. Old fashions more expensive and not as good as Range.
Liang’s Thai Food cart on 16th St Mall is really good. Only open for lunch, and only takes cash. Be prepared to step over lots of bums.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub has good spicy chicken sliders and decent draft menu.
Water Grill is pretty overpriced, but the charred octopus is delicious.
The fried catfish at Oscar Blues Brewery is surprising very good. Jagged Mountain Brewing has some good beers.

Mercantile Brunch was really great last time I was there. Some of the best chicken and waffles I've had.

When I lived in Denver we liked Rioja, Bistro Vendome, Steubens, Izakya Den, and Luca for fine dinning, Cherry Cricket, GB Fish and Chips, and Sams No 3 for more common fare.

Rioja is one of my favorites. Been there 3 times and outstanding each visit.

Good food at all of these casual places…….
Sams #3 for a breakfast burrito with green chili.
Mexico City restaurant for fried steak tacos.
Yazoo BBQ for chicken BOBs and rib tips.
La Fiesta for the best chili rellenos
La Loma has very good Mexican food
Anthony’s for NY style pizza
ETA: Snarfs for toasted sub sandwiches, ask about the secret menu.
The best fine dining in the metro area is not in downtown Denver, for the most part.

You may be shocked by the number of bums on the 16th street mall.

Had an amazing wagyu pastrami sandwich from there last time I was in Denver. Sadly, looks like it’s been removed from the menu.
