New car prices shock me. Carvana current financials scare me. Used cars concern me. Therefore, buying vehicle this go round, Bourbon balances me.
OT, give me the scoop. Pros and cons of new world order car buying.

Finance for 6-8 years.
Drive it for 20.
Then you’ll
Make out alright.
And no worries, you’ll have no problem getting the extended warranty. They will find you no matter where you run or where you hide.

Bought my daughter’s car on Carvana last year. No issues and the transaction was relatively simple. Clean Carfax. Got what was advertised.

I thought Carvana was bankrupt and dead?

I’ve purchased last 4 cars on Carvana along with trading in my wife’s in the last purchase. All have been easy with no issues. You can likely beat their prices but I’ve been very satisfied with the cars, the condition of the vehicles have been transparent pre-purchase and I’ve had them cut me a check to cover removal of some car film that wasn’t disclosed on one. I’ve always picked up from their vending machines and can’t speak to the delivery service.

We bought our last two vehicles on Carvana. Interest rates are higher than a dealer, but you can use your own financing or refinance pretty quickly.
Process has been easy. The first one was a fantastic car. We traded in, this one seems to be not as good mechanically, but it is as advertised. I think we just hit a HR of a deal on the first vehicle.
There’s no haggling, they handle all registration, pick up, drop off, etc.
Like I said, higher rate in house but you can refinance. If you’re a car salesman, yes I’d much rather pay a higher interest rate initially than do that fricking song and dance and spend all day at the dealership watching your colleague continuously strike out on deals and eye frick 4s.

Carvana kind of screwed me over. I was going to buy a car from them and then like 3 days before I was supposed to pick it up they told me it would be delayed 2 weeks because of a “minor cosmetic defect”.
I told them to kick rocks because it pissed me off that they delayed it just 3 days before it was time for me to pick it up. Supposedly they had already done an inspection, so I don’t understand why the original inspection didn’t detect that flaw.

It’s definitely possible Carvana spent a ton of money on good publicity by enrolling people to leave random reviews, but most everything I read that I believe to be organic about Carvana points a to a smooth, positive transaction.
However, when there are stories about going wrong it’s usually awful.

Recently bought a used car using auto trader dot com. Depending if you want to ship or drive it back. Do a nationwide search of dealerships to find want you want. Flew and drove it back. Found what I wanted and save $2,000 over local pricing.

Carvana was great. No sitting at a dealership in an office with some a-hole.

We've purchased 3 cars through Carvana and can't imagine doing it any other way from now on. Exceptional customer service and no slimey dealerships to waste time with. They just make car buying super easy.
ETA: We had them come and pick one of the cars up because the interior was way worse than could be seen in the pictures. There was no hassle, and we just turned around and purchased the same make and model. You get 7 days to return the car for any reason.
