Do it every chance I get.

Medium or MH power rod and usually always have a 1/8 or 1/4oz jig head with a chartreuse gulp curly tail that I toss out in front of them.
If it’s sunny, a gold spoon works well. If it’s overcast, go with a black spoon.

Only thing that sucks for me is that I’m colorblind and can have some difficulty spotting them against the marsh bottom. I do better when they’re tailing or pushing bait along the grass

If you have some good clean water and not too much thick grass I like throwing Buggs LINK

Generally just using 7ft medium spinning spinning set up. If conditions are good then I break out the 8wt and it gets really fun.

6wt Hardy Zephrus SWS and Nautilus NVG with a crab fly. They're up heavy in the duck ponds right now.

lews reel and waterloo rod
I uses light action just because I mainly fish for trout.
Love spoons on the eastern side of state where water is clear.
Here on western side of state where the water stays murky, I toss plastics mostly and scented plastics (gulp) when they are being difficult.

Shallow water and used a Devil Horse, look for the V wakes as you slowly troll the bank or grass line.

All my rods are 6.5-7.5 in length, medium-heavy. Usually have one with a gold spoon or black spoon, and the others have different colored swim baits all rigged with weedless hooks. Some may have a spinner, some not. Just have to find what they are liking.

Texas roach seems to be my favorite color combo.

Redfish will eat anything you put in front of them.
Finding them without spooking is the key.

I'm jumping in kinda late but yeah I do this almost every time I go. Most of my videos show me sight fishing at some point in them.

My primary sight fishing set up is:

7' MH Cajun Savannah
Lew's 6.8:1 Tournament Pro Reel
20lb Braid Backer Line
7' 15lb Flouro Leader

I choose my set up because I need to throw far, but also accurately. 7' is my sweet spot there. Medium heavy because I don't only catch reds on this, I catch trout and bass. Heavy would be overkill for them, but Medium would be too light for some of the real big fish I catch. The reel I use is because the ratio gives me a bit more strength than a 7.5:1 and I just like Lew's for their price point. All my reels use 20lb braid backer and a 6-7' leader, there's nothing special about that for sight fishing except for usually I use 8-12lb flouro on my leaders and for this I go a bit heavier for obvious reasons.

Usually I fish with a 1/2oz gold spoon, but last time I went out a fish broke the damn hook off (that is a link to my youtube, I think it's relevant). But, I'll still probably stick to the gold spoon because as you can see in that link, the versatility of how you can use it (I cast onto the bank and pull it back into the water) is unmatched in my book. The durability is great too, that hook breaking off was after catching 30+ reds on it.

Other lures I've used are plastic craws or flukes rigged texas rig, or flukes on underspins. But again, the spoons are so easy and also super effective as you can see here.

Years ago we used to use a gold weed less spoon. We were fishing out of canoes because the water was shallow. You could see them in the grass moving around. It was a blast when you threw the spoon close to where they were swimming and they would destroy the spoon
