Work trips with the opposite sex

I’m scheduled to go to a conference in a couple of months. Right now, the only other person scheduled to go is a woman in my department. She’s married, I’m not. I have absolutely no interest in her, and even if I did I learned long ago not to dip your pen in company ink. Apparently her husband is raising a stink over it and she went to our department head and asked I not go or they send a third person. Bitch, I was booked for this trip before you were. I was kind of dreading going to this, but now I am going just to spite her. She booked a different flight than me and is staying at a different hotel, likely at her husband’s insistence.

So stupid. Luckily she will be easy to avoid the whole trip, if her insecure husband even lets her go. Never run into this situation in all my years working.
