Or we legalize all drugs and cut the ground right out from under their most profitable product.

They have no time to protect our own citizens and our own border from this stuff.

They are way too busy targeting conservatives/Catholics and funding the war in Ukraine to waste their time with fentanyl and the drug cartels running free on our border.

They basically arrested anyone who looked like they were in a gang and put them in a mega prison. I mean, they were easy to spot.

Wouldn’t eliminate the problem. Human trafficking, guns, and drugs that will never be legalized will keep them strong no matter how legal weed gets. Junkies will always want the cheap, cut crap that isn’t regulated and taxed. And that’s why fentanyl is killing thousands and no one cares.

This is absolutely correct but people here don't understand economics.

Instead we could drastically beef up border security, cut off as much access to the United States as possible, restrict travel of Americans to mexico, even popular tourist zones. Cut off the spigot completely.

This is insane. The only thing your proposal accomplishes is to increase the price of illegal drugs and drive up the profits of the cartels. Drugs is winning the War on Drugs and always will.

Instead, you need to cut cartels off. Legalize all forms of drugs here. Make work visas easier to obtain so people can come and work and pay taxes. Eliminate the social welfare safety nets: no free housing, no free schools, no free healthcare.

I'm not sure why everyone wants to create some police state for every damn problem.......

You think people that buy crack are going to line up and buy crack from reputable stores? You think reputable stores are going to sell crack?

Also the “make all drugs legal” crowd always fails to understand we would have to live in that hell hole that you created. I don’t see anyone thinking it’s working in San Francisco, Seattle, etc.

Making all drugs legal would be the dumbest thing we could possibly do as a society.

It’s actually not, but you have to reinvest all the current war on drugs money into rehab and health (physical and mental) clinics. It’s possible, but it’s not cheap

Any effort meant to control a 150 billion dollar US black market will fail.

Its too lucrative, there will always be suppliers. kill one off, the next guy pops up.

Imagine the absolute shite storm associated with a crack store, government or not, built near a halfway decent neighborhood.

nah, we need to spend every last tax payer dollar in Ukraine and fighting white supremacy domestically. if there is a single extra cent or effort after that, we need to launch a new investigation into the former president for being a meanie pants.

Getting back to the original story, people on other boards here claim they got the story from the locals on the US side…

The minivan got stopped at a Cartel checkpoint, the guys in the van tried to bluff the cartel about how much cash they were carrying, and the Cartel got pissed off.

When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong, if so.

none of this is true.

Synthetics are only a thing because we cracked down on less dangerous drugs.

People love drugs, they will continue to buy drugs because there will always be a market, you cannot kill it

All youre doing is allowing unscrupulous people to control the trade.

They're just getting it from neighborhood houses now. Same people, just less visible and more violent.

Exactly my point. California is doing all of that and failing miserably and WANTS all this shite. Imagine trying to do it in states that don’t want it and can’t afford it.
