He would be a good guy to move up for if so. Both charges are misdemeanors, so probably doubtful he free falls

Oh yeah he’s going to fall
Awful look for him

Bro, he was racing another vehicle in which 2 people died.

I think he will fall some, but someone will take him. Stupid decision on his part, but man can he play. And at a position of supreme need for us. I wouldn’t mind trading up some for him.

This will be interesting. I would say he goes the way of La’el Collins. But we are a ways off from the draft, so I think some teams investigate and think the risk is worth the reward and he still goes top 10, of top 15.

He might be in jail. Depends on legal action against him. I thinking UDFA. I will not touch him until I hear more on his case. Saints can't take change on wasted pick.

Undrafted? He's charged with reckless driving/DUI and racing. Both are misdemeanor charges

That questions his maturity...you gotta think even with the talent that worries some teams. But he won't fall out of the first round unless he does serious time + suspension from the league (can they even do that?)

More concerning is the avoided charge of DUI which is why he left the scene after seeing his teammate go up in flames.
He will be solidly on quite a few DO NOT DRAFT boards in war rooms come draft time.

Still would just be a misdemeanor charge. But since he left, they can’t prove it now.
Our star running back just committed felony battery on a person which is a serious violent charge and no one had a problem with him playing this year. And some of you wouldn’t touch this guy, it’s laughable the hypocrisy from some of you.

I doubt he drops far in this modern age of the nfl.

Future All-Pro DL... He'll still go top 5.

I’m not a criminal lawyer, so I don’t know how bad his legal issues are in Georgia. Obviously, NFL teams are about to investigate this incident and his background looking for the slightest hints of behavioral issues.
This is a bit different than the Collins situation in that there was only speculation about Collins. In Carter’s case, we know what he did and even if the legal consequences aren’t ultimately too significant, people died and he played a role in it. That’s tough to ignore. The question will become: was this a one off incident with serious consequences, or does he have behavioral and maturity issues and this is the most prominent example of it manifesting itself?
If the facts currently being reported are accurate, he’s going to slip. How much he slips will be based on teams assessments of his as a whole person. As others have said, he will be untouchable to some teams and that makes sense - some teams just won’t go there. As a Saints fan, if he still sitting there at 29, I’m not sure you take him if available. Talented as he is, we just can’t take that type of risk with other holes all over the roster and limited draft capital.
Perhaps more info will come out and prove he is worth the risk to draft him respective to his talent level. But right now, I’d have to assume he slides at least some.

It’s not about the charge, it’s about the overwhelming stupidity.

Our track record of moving up for DL has not been good at all. Like disastrous. Haven't hit a sure thing there since Cam got drafted.

Top 10 at LEAST but apparently these fools think talent dont get all kinds of chances in the NFL.

msstate, saw this post on the moresports board for you.
quote:
Carter, who was once considered a potential No. 1 pick in April's draft, weighed 323 pounds at the pro day. He opted to do only position drills and didn't participate in other aspects of the workout, including the 40-yard dash, cone drills and other physical tests. Carter didn't finish the position drills because he was cramping up and breathing heavily.

Reading that I'm expecting a classic draft day drop. Not a good look.

Wow, if he's there when we pick, I'd still run to the podium. I expect him to be gone though
