Let's be honest here. The current popular culture narrative is that obesity (particularly in women) has little, if any, negative health effects and there is no objective reason to be "fit" or to weigh what would be labelled as "normal" on a BMI scale.
Of course that is complete bullshite, but that's the pop culture message over the past 5-10 years.
In keeping with that, I'm not sure Gatorade's message is that the obese woman is intending to lose weight by doing yoga.

You want to go hypertension, you can drink copious amounts of Gatorade.

It’s a testament to how amazingly ignorant people are to basic nutrition that Gatorade got away with marketing itself as a healthy drink
I mean if you are in the middle of a long distance run and need the sugar and electrolytes to replenish what you’ve expended/excreted it makes sense. If you are Joe Blow chilling on the sofa and could stand to lose 50 lbs it’s about as horrible a choice as you could ever make.

It was designed and made for athletes sweating like shite under the hot Florida sun.
Sedentary people (majority of the population in office jobs) all you need is water.
Otherwise if you drink Gatorade all day your blood pressure will shoot through the roof and you'll get fat like the woman in the Ad.
34 grams of sugar is basically a bottle of Coke. Gatorade was too tone-deaf to realize their Ad was advertising what their product actually does.

it absolutely blows me away some of the intentionally misleading labels are on things in the grocery store and how most people just have zero clue whatsoever what they're actually looking at. Like some pastas that are "healthy!" even loaded to the brim with carbs adn calories but they have like 2 less grams of fat than the other version. Or cereals that try to appeal to kids (or kids' parents really) by saying they're a great healthy start to the day even though it's nothing but carbs and sugars but it's got like 3 chunks of dried fruit in it.
And then of course the topic at hand, the absolute smorgasbord of "healthy" energy drinks that aren't healthy in any way.
