Nay.

I just want an actual Vlad Tepes film.

Dracula Untold took way too many liberties and failed to do what it was supposed to-setup a shared Universal Horror Universe. It failed on multiple fronts.

I’m not sure today’s audience could handle an accurate portrayal of the things Vlad did.

SPOILERS:

Having him become a vampire willingly in order to save his people, made him out to be some kind of superhero. I guess the plan was to tell the events of the novel in present day by introducing Mina Murray at the end.

Only saw it once but I don't remember being very good it was trying to set up a universe and then there was that Tom Cruise Mummy movie that I think was supposed to be set in the same universe and it bombed terribly at the box office and completely destroyed Universal's plans.

All I know is when I saw Morbius I kept thinking to myself that this flick reminds me of Dracula Untold.

After the movie I check out IMDB and lo and behold both movies were written by the same two guys.

Other movies written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless include The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, and Power Rangers. They also wrote the upcoming Madame Web flick so I'm sure that'll be another pile of shite w/the occasional good idea drowned out by awful CGI.

It’s a good off-night watch but only prime time viewing if expectations are low.

History is so wild that I really wonder why Hollywood chooses to remake the same tired movies instead of just converting a history book to a script.

It was an interesting telling of the story by weaving a bit of history into it. I liked it a lot more than most vampire flicks of the last couple decades. Fright Night (the original, not that garbage w/ Colin Farrell) was the previous last good vampire flick and that wasn't "Dracula" based. So before this, the last good "Dracula" specific movie?.... ummm....

...and no I'm not forgetting Gary Oldman's version, no thanks

If there is nothing else on TV that you particularly want to watch, it is a reasonably well-done take on a different version of Dracula.

Is it worth going out of your way to see? No.

Y'all were right. Nice idea but didn't flesh out key concepts too much. Movie was only 90 minutes. We never really get to see him as the real monster who feeds on others. Also, the misuse of Charles Dance was criminal. Less than 10 minutes on screen when he stole every scene he was in. Should've used him more.

The ending had possibilities. It would've been nice if there was a real sequel that explored it.
