Welp, it's 2023. This is it, this is the Bengals last chance to win their first ever Super Bowl under Joe Burrow for many years.

Josh Allen is now being paid off his rookie deal. Stephon Diggs, Von Miller, they have to pay up to keep these stars. They are hurting on cap space and will likely lose some key pieces on defense(Trey Edmonds, Jordan Poyer). But worst of all, they missed on a lot of draft picks in the last couple years. That's basically the nail in the coffin. It will all fall apart from there. I expect the head coach, and maybe even the GM to be fired from Buffalo after the 2023 season.

My top reasons for the Bengals run to come to an end:

- The QB market is only going up with new contracts

- Bengals owner is well known as being one of the cheapest pro sports owners.

- Joe Burrow(1st overall pick in 2020) Rookie contract advantage - GONE after 2023 season

-Tee Higgins(2nd Rd pick that turned out to be a first round value) Rookie contract advantage - GONE after 2023 season

- Jamar Chase(5th overall pick in 2021) still on Rookie contract for 1 more year, but will be eligible for a contract extension.

- Lou Anarumo is a good coach and his time is coming very soon. Big point to keep in mind here is that Zach Taylor is an offensive minded head coach and he struck gold with arguably the best DC in the NFL in Lou Anarumo. This man does so much more with less. I can see why he was a finalist for the Arizona Cardinals HC job, but if they have success again this season, which I expect them to with that guy at the helm of the defense - GONE

And DJ Reader and Tre Hendrickson are currently free agents as of right now. Good news is because they don't have to pay the guys above yet, they have a decent amount of cap space and might be able to bring those guys back on a 1-year deal, but you can already start to see the wheels starting to fall off.

I’m a big Burrow guy but the shine is off a little bit after these playoffs.

Do you hold every NFL QB to this standard?

And the Chiefs know how to maximize the draft to keep their salary cap reasonable. Even with that, Chiefs ownership is not a tightwad like the Bengals ownership is.

The Chiefs have Veach who has been a GM Prophetic God and Swindler. He’s crushed the last two drafts. Got us Toney to replace Hill who helped us win SB2. We have a stud, dirt cheap RB in Pacheco. Our window is still wide open for the next few seasons.

bengals will be hurting trying to keep Burrow, Chase, Higgins, and Boyd together.

ehhh Andy Reid is a top 10 coach ever probably, but it's a similar situation with Belichick and Brady feeding off each other

I have the feeling when Burrow retires it's gonna be a lot of, "Just think of how many Super Bowls he would have won if Mahomes wasn't around"

That because we have the best GM in the NFL and hit big time on the last two drafts. Plus, we have Mahomes.

Chiefs 2021 rookie class > Bengals 2021 Rookie class

Chiefs 2022 rookie class >>> Bengals 2022 rookie class

And on top of that, Chiefs have more draft capital than the Bengals for the upcoming draft. 9 picks vs. 7 picks. Gotta love that Tyreek trade

You know why? Because the Benglas are by far and away the biggest threat to Chiefs in the AFC in 2023. I respect what the Bengals built 2-3 years ago. They hit on two top 5 overall picks, one of them being a franchise QB, and a few 2nd round guys like Higgins. They had to suck the first year with Burrow, just to land Chase with that #5 pick.

For losing a game he played pretty well in that came down to the wire?

By these standards who is actually good?

It kind of felt that way for the Chiefs just a year ago, especially after they let Tyreek walk. Yet, here we are.

Bengals are going to be fine offensively. They need to keep their dominant defense intact as much as they can.
