It’s the ideal commuter car

Their interiors are shite
Enjoy having to scroll through touchscreen menus to change the temp, vents, literally anything
Although many cars are like this now, but Tesla was the first and is the worst about it
$60k Cadillac Lyriq has a much nicer interior than any Tesla. Including those well over $100k.

No they aren't
Some early adopters have free supercharging but they're even offering to buy people out of those now. Everyone else has to pay for consumption.
When did that change? I know Musk has mentioned before his desire that the chargers be free for Tesla owners. I guess it got a bit more expensive than expected?

Are there any long term Tesla owners who can speak to how the car did, or didn't, age and "hold up" over say, 5 years?
If the car does hold up well, do you think you'd be willing to spend $20,000 or more for a new battery pack when the first one wears out?
I've had mine a year with zero issues. Also, the battery is covered for 8 years and 120K miles. I won't keep mine that long regardless but you're covered for a long time on the battery. Most are lasting about 300-500K miles and Tesla's new batteries they're making in Texas are supposed to last to a million miles.

Been that way for like the last 5 years. It's about $10 per stop to supercharge on a trip from my experience. Not exactly breaking the bank.

Ands the Tesla truck and semi were going to be out a couple years ago...

It’s not that you’re wrong, it’s just that you’re an a-hole.

As an owner of a Tesla model three long range, I would say definitely get one! Maintenance is nill, it’s fun as shite to drive, you’re saving thousands of dollars on gas, and you can go anywhere in the country and hit a supercharger. It’s not like you’re driving 500 miles a day so those who say it takes longer to charge versus gas up don’t really understand that you’re only doing that every once in a while. Also, they retain their value extremely well and right now you can get a $7500 rebate so it’s a no-brainer

Aren't you the guy who was $60k in credit card debt and didn't know how much money he was spending each month?
Yes, a Tesla is the car for you.

Has nothing to do with battery degradation.

I recently upgraded to a 2009 Accord with 195,000 miles

I fricking hate this about my Tahoe.
I got a chip for mine. None of that bullshite and none of that fuel management 4 cyl shite, either. Do a little research into how many engines are damaged from that...

All of it.
Seriously, IMO just a technology that's not quite ready for primetime, costs not withstanding.
I think they'd be fine for running around town, particularly if you live in a city with a lot of places to charge or can setup a home station. I have no desire to own one for a variety of reasons though.

How was a long road trip easy to do? Your driving habits must be different from mine.

For those, there a several of you, that cannot do basic reading comprehension; Tesla claims a lot. Tesla truck was supposed to be out a couple years ago. Nada. Tesla Semi was supposed to be out several years ago. A few are running for Pepsi now in 2023. Not several years ago.
Tesla claims 1 million mile batteries.
Not holding my breath.

Compares vehicle development to ESS useful life and then throws this zinger out there. Good stuff.

There is actual, verifiable data to support the degradation values up to 300k+ miles. But you can continue to deflect and try to understand something you don't know frick about.

Still love my car, but being realistic she’s getting to the age where little things are not what’s going to break.
Then, sell it.
Just know that electric car technology is better than the infrastructure to support it.
IMO, wait another 10 years or so. Then, reevaluate. If you really want something electric, get a cheap one... or a hybrid.
