Cade Doughty

Jacob Berry

You can't even look up the draft pick, too? Google isn't hard.

I think Berry is getting drafted by the Saints as a QB

His numbers are lower than expected but hopefully he can get them up. High draft pick to be batting .248

Good god

For reference, Bregman hit .259 in 112 AB's in A-ball when he first began MiLB

He hit .300+ in September and started raking end of August after a short adjustment period.

He’s looking good, dude can hit.

But then do we get Tommy the Tank?

I doubt you’re even looking at more meaningful numbers.
Berry’s OBP is .343. He did it with 13 walks and 23 SOs over 125 at bats. It means the rookie is exceeding the norm. Being able to draw walks at a rate of 10% above ABs is good.

His bb/k ratio is 0.56. That’s good too. That ratio in the majors would put him just below the top 25 among hitters.

Sure he’ll have to prove it at higher levels and with a larger sample size this year. But nothing suggests he won’t meet expectations.

Means very very little this early in a career.
