Pretty frugal here, but I bought a new 2010 Nissan Altima for $20,000.
Cheapest was a used 96 S-10 for $3,800 in 2001. Had 88,000 miles.

Parents bought me a 91 Chevy Cavalier for $1,400 at the start of my senior year in high school in ‘99.
First vehicle I bought on my own was an ‘03 Silverado for a little over 20k.
Most expensive is the truck I’m in now. 2021 tundra which was around 40kish

I had a Jeep that cost me just as much in repairs/upkeep as the note when it was all said and done.
Cheapest was a used Nissan Pathfinder from back in the day. Paid maybe $3,500 for it. That thing was a tank that refused to die.

My grandfather gave me my first truck. I bushhogged a lot of fields for that but I don't remember what our arrangement was at this point.
My 2nd was a 93 Nissan hardbody. It was like 6k. It wasn't new but it didn't have but about 30k miles on it.
My current truck is probably the most I've ever spent - 33k in 2017.

I’ve only ever purchased one vehicle. Used 2014 expedition with 70k miles a couple years ago. Just under $25k out the door.

Cheapest: Dad bought me my first car, a 1989 Buick Century in 2002 for $500. The cheapest I bought for myself, was basically the same, a 1991 Buick Century in 2009 for the same $500.
Most expensive: Paid about $32k or our current 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid

In 1978 I bought a 62 Ford Rambler for $400 just to drive to work due to plant crap getting on vehicles in the parking lot. Couldn't kill the damn thing. Sold it 3 years later for what I paid for it.

Cheapest that I actually purchased and wasn't a hand-me-down: 2002 Toyota Echo for $3500. Got totalled three years later, insurance company paid me $3500. Basically a free car. It was my commuter vehicle from Athens to ATL.
Other shittier cars I drove, but didn't personally buy: 77 Impala, 86 Celebrity, 94 Sunbird. 91 Oldsmobile wagon.
Most expensive- brand new 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude $25,000 out the door.

I paid $1,000 for a 1980 mustang in 1991. Two days later the timing belt went out. But, after fixing it the damned thing lasted me 4 years.
Enjoyed that car more than any other I've ever owned, including my wife's $85K Mercedes GL 450.

My wife's GLA was 50k. Easily most expensive for a OT non-baller.
My 84 Ranger in high school was $1200. That was the cheapest.

I've only purchased one car in my life - $8,000+ Lexus that I currently drive. Started in a crappy hand me down and got a gently used Accord as a college graduation present, both of which I drove until the wheels came off.

1987 Toyota Celica, $900. Had over 270k miles. Heater core started leaking. I cut a couple piece of broom handle, grabbed some clamps, and shut of the water line from the core. No heat, but the AC was icy cold. Engine ran great.
Most expensive is a new (third in the state of Louisiana) 2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude for the wife. I drive cheap little cars for MPG.

Back in college, I bought a 2000 model Volkswagen Jetta GLX V6 that was loaded in 2007 for 1,450 or so bucks. Sunroof, heated seats, leather, wood trim, power everything.
It had 170,000 highway miles on it and I it was on eBay.
It was nearby so I messaged the guy if I could come look at it. So I went and looked it over.. drove it.. and gave it a once over checking things out. Needed a set of tires but it was ok. Guy said he thought 2,400ish was going to be the high bid.
Sat in my apartment that Sunday night and I bid it up to 1,450. The next to highest bidder was in Illinois.
Two things hurt it online. It was a 5 speed and it was higher miles. No…. Didn’t hurt it… it killed it. My bid won.
I subsequently put 100,000 more miles on it before the clutch went out and I sold it for 600 bucks to a mechanic.
