What’s your go to guitar pedal brand? What in your opinion is the most underrated and overrated pedal brands?

whatever you do, always buy used.

Yes. If you know exactly what you want. If you buy them to try them out I’d go with Sweetwater or somewhere it’s easy to return.

You can never go wrong with Boss, Ibanez/Maxon or MXR. All three of those have sold millions of units and are found on novice and pro boards alike for very good reason. They sound great, their controls are easy to understand and manipulate, they are affordable, they are bulletproof and indestructible, and they are readily available new and used.
My board also has TC Electronic, Fulltone, Xotic, Wampler, Source Audio, Barber, Bogner, SoloDallas,, Menatone, Geoffrey Teese and Voodoo Lab pedals. My power blocks are Voodoo Lab.
Edited to add brands/pedals I overlooked in the previous paragraph.

No one brought it up so
Are strymon worth the money? Seems like a lot of people jizz over them based on the brand

I like Fulltone and own several. Boss pedals are reliable and built like a tank. Not sure about overrated brands though. There's so many boutique expensive brands out there.

I was surprised to see they went out of business recently.

He got a lot of backlash over his rioting comments. Was the beginning of the end as cancel brigade came after him. He made some great pedals.

What else could a guitar player actually need?
ETA- A/B box to a Fender Twin or Mesa Mark IV combo.

That's pushing a lot of air.
To the other poster. Strymon is very good. Worth the price? Meh.
Wampler makes a good pedal. Little pricey as well.

I like BOSS and Fortin

He must have made out well to buy a 17-acre tract with a recording studio anywhere near Nashville. I think I saw that one listed and it was eight figures.

they are amazing pedals. the amount of detail put into their pedals is insane. now, am I going to spend $400 for a guitar pedal? nope, but look at pro players and it's almost a lock that they will have at least one strymon pedal.
