Has anyone been through it and it helped save a marriage?

We got a whole lot of marriages in turmoil on the OT these days.

Ask yourself, are you willing to REALLY work on your marriage? Ask again, is my spouse REALLY willing to work on our marriage?

If the answer to either question is not 100% yes save your money for the divorce.

Depends on a few factors.

How selfish/selfless are each of you?

How willing to alter your behavior?

How willing to let go of resentment (the real killer).

How good is the counselor, especially in teaching communication skills and in teaching insights on what a healthy relationship looks like.

I hate to be the one to say it but it sounds like she/he might be cheating on you. Chin up. Join a gym.

If you’ve got kids, try like hell to stay together.

Serve God, serve your family, and only then serve yourself.

If you’d just stop being a callous arse hole that doesn’t put anything into your marriage, you wouldn’t need counseling

At the end of the day it’s up to you and her. Also, never a bad thing to go through marriage counseling for the hell of it. It doesn’t have to be a last resort

If you've made it to the counseling stage, the marriage is over. Your significant other is probably tanking it on purpose to let you down easy

It doesn’t work.
I know of a friend who uprooted his whole life and supported his wife when she wanted to go to med school. Long story short. They were married for 12 years and he worked two jobs and helped raise their kid in the process. Unbelievable father. They started going to counseling and it tanked the whole thing. Unfortunately, women don’t like to be held accountable. They will tank relationships on purpose and then play victim. Once you shine the light on their flaws, they can’t handle it.
