Somebody explain to me why a U.S. F-22 fighter shoots down an object in Canadian airspace?

Do we just do everything for everybody now? Did it cross into US airspace then Canadian?

Just curious because it says it was ordered by Trudeau. I guess we followed it into their airspace then they gave the okay.

I don't think Canada owns a plane that can shoot down an object at 60k feet

Pilots need some hours for the airlines after they discharge now since we’re not in a 20 year long war anymore.

The planes were assigned to NATO so it was an international thing.

Canada announced 2 days ago that they are buying 88 F-35-s from us.

Canada has CF-18s but Elmendorf was probably closer than any of the Canadian bases.

Didn't Trudeau run on cancelling the original order?

Probably because they can't. Their submarine force amounts to a mall ride.

They dislike us and then panic when China was testing missiles and they were wondering if the US would shoot them down.

Easy to have socialized utopia when you don't have to mount an army.

The United States and Canada, through NORAD, have an integrated air defense system.
