China is a mono-ethnic country. 92% are Han Chinese.
But even if we don't want to look at China, Trump literally made comments about other groups that were pretty racial. Whether it be the Mexicans that weren't sending their best, that's explicitly racial.

Which is not the same thing as saying white America elected him.
The phrase means a majority of a particular group voted for a particular candidate.
Trump would have had to win a minority of non-white voters (Hispanics) to win in 2020 but that doesn't mean Hispanic America voted for him.
The phrase has a meaning.
