It's evident that we are just useless meat-eaters and don't do anything for our planet. So people, make sure you keep your carbon footprint at minimal levels or else the Eye of Sauron will raise the alarm!
Hey Billy, I have a question for you. So is it justifiable for you to use racial slurs then if it serves the common good of the world? Since after all, you're a world-class philanthropist uber-expert on everything so that utopia can become a reality for everyone.
How about engaging in pedophilia and other "taboo" or socially unacceptable deviant activities? Do you feel justified in participating in these things because after all, you're too important as a benefactor of society - and boy, do we thank you for bringing us those life-saving vaccines! Who are we to judge you right? Do you think that you should be above the law or any moral code of conduct?

Buying carbon offsets is simply a modern day Papal Indulgence. It's just buying the ability to sin.

If he actually cared about this issue he would fund Climeworks only, and put his entire wealth in it - to do direct air capture to remove EVERYONE's carbon footprint. But we all know that Bill Gates doesn't care about the climate or humans.
If anyone would like to be guilted into changing your climate perceptions and habits, go here Carbon Offset Calculator.
Not only will it tell you how many trees you have to plant, it will give you reasons to feel guilty for living as you do, and a long list of reasons planting trees isn't feasible for you, but it is feasible for you to give them money so they can do it for you.
From what I can tell, no one here would need to plant more than 200 trees per year to offset your carbon footprint. You can do that in an afternoon. Then you too can live like Bill Gates - conscience free.
