The truth about Adam Miller

Posted on 2/4/23 at 5:31 pm
The majority of LSU fans overrated Adam Miller coming into this season due to several reasons including: Will Wade spoke highly of him and the fact that he stayed with LSU.
Although I do think Ace would play slightly better on a better team, the individual aspects of his game are poor. He is an extremely awful decision maker; he has terrible shot IQ, terrible passing IQ, and chucks shots. His defense isn’t bad though.
He wasn’t this mythical player at Illinois that everyone thinks he was. He played with two NBA level players, shot close to the same efficiency from the field, and overall didn’t display much more than he’s showing here. It’s time to stop overrating him and be real with his abilities. Stop defending him just because you like him and Will Wade said he was really good.

He isn't the same player since his injury.

He’s not meant to be the focal point.
#1. The injury definitely has something to do with it.
#2. This team is bad. If you put other good players around, he would get more open looks. He shouldn’t be shooting 12 times a game.
#3. Stop blaming Will Wade.

He is though. He’s basically the same player that he was at Illinois.

I don't know how to talk with you guys.

I'm a nice guy, but I mean that sincerely.

What the hell are you talking about? Just about every poster on here is saying his performance sucks and they are not defending anything he does.

My dude, he shot only 3% better from three at Illinois. Thinking his injury majorly derailed him is delusional. Practice is a whole different story from the games. Just because you can shoot in practice doesn’t mean it’s replicable in games.
Whoever said he shouldn’t be shooting twelve shots a game, you’re correct. He forces shots unnecessarily. I don’t know what’s worse, the open shots he misses or the repetitive low-IQ shots he forces.

Who was it that they hyped up as like the next Ray Allen a couple of years ago? Mwani maybe?

Because of this team's lack of talent, he's being forced to take on the role of being the star player and carrying the team. That's not his game. He's a good complimentary player that would be much more productive if he was serving in a different role.

LSU students are called McManiacs. McManiacInsaneAsylum is a play on that since we’re losing and we’re maniacs. It’s not that deep.

To think Miller wouldn't have been better outside of his ACL is just mind numbing to me.
For all you WW can't coach types, just look at how he devolved players.

An ACL injury should not drastically inhibit a shooter’s ability to shoot. Quite the opposite in fact, as many players have developed an outside shot to cope with knee injuries and age related wear and tear.
The facts are this: Adam Miller shot 30% from three in conference play at Illinois despite playing on a better team. If you can provide facts and evidence as to why he was a better player pre injury (besides saying WW said he was the practice Ray Allen) I will change my mind.
Go look at his highlights in high school, go look at his highlights at Illinois, look at the stats and the game by game splits. He wasn’t this drastically different player pre injury like you all think.

WW is 100% responsible for this position LSU Basketball is in.
Having said this, we need guys that can finish at rim

So tearing your ACL is better? Is this one of the Tommy John's he throws better now?
Do you understand how ridiculous that is?

Of course Josh Gray was compared to Chris Jackson too.

Unless I am mistaken, Miller has 3 years of eligibility after this one, so he has time to improve. I think he should be in a 6th man role, providing a spark off the bench.

Stop straw-manning what I’m saying. An ACL injury only drastically inhibits a basketball players ability if they were primarily athletically based (driving, dunks, layups, etc). That has NEVER been Ace’s game. Even so, many players tear their ACL and come back like nothing happened. This isn’t the 1970s where an ACL was a career ender. Obviously everyone isn’t the same but the evidence is overwhelmingly clear that an ACL tear isn’t responsible for Miller’s performance.
Furthermore, you provided no counter argument or evidence to my point of his play at Illinois. He was healthy back then, playing on a better team, and in a smaller role. Yet, he put up strikingly similar stats and production. Maybe he was always the player he’s always been??? Go figure.

I thought I could have a conversation, but you do you. I can't deal with nonsense.

My brother, your lack of understanding of basketball and what I’m saying is shining through clearly.
Still waiting for evidence on him being a better player prior to his injury.

The fact that this has more downvotes than upvotes proves y’all have no idea what you’re talking about. How hard is to go to ESPN.com and look at his stats from his year at Illinois to see he isn’t a different player?
