I know this because the 24% bracket starts at 15k owed in taxes, so he’s in the 22% bracket.
And that’s taxable income obviously.

I think you are looking at the image totally wrong. Taxes owed on 1 mill is upward of 300k
How can you not see that?

I meant I pay that on top of claiming zero and none all year. Taxes are taken out of my check weekly.

You see where it says total federal tax? That’s how much you owed the irs for the year.

Look at it again. It means he paid $300K in taxes and he owes an additional $10K. He said he claims single and zero so taxes are already taken out of his check.

He didnt say that. He said he pays 8-12 in taxes. He has since clarified.
But hey, the rich don’t pay taxes.

I get that now. He still said I pay 8-12k a year. He didn’t say additional.
I just assumed his total tax bill ever year was around that much, which puts him in the 22% bracket.

I pay more than that in taxes Guess I should have clarified that was in addition to having taxes taken out.

I see your side. I've done taxes for a living so when someones says they pay anything, I'm assuming that's what they pay at tax time, not throughout the year.

I claim zero and none but pay 8 to 12k per year.
That means you make $1 million per year.

You pay more in taxes in one year than most people make in a 5-10 year span.
