I completely forgot about the Millerville one.

The Millerville location frequently has same day stock that the Bluebonnet location doesn't.

Circuit city has actually made a comeback I know they relaunched as an online retailer and I think a few storefronts

The one at Mall of La had this when it opened, but they have expanded into what used to be the music, DVD, and CD area.

Laundry machines and kitchen appliances both take up a lot of space. May as well since Sears is gone now. They probably do pretty well in that arena.

Not aware of any of them closing here.

BUT.

They have obviously been hurting for a while now because the amount of stock kept on hand used to be much higher. Now a lot of the grab and go stuff has to be ordered online and sent either from the warehouse or shipped from a different store.

Still like them but I mainly use them for online stuff / ship to store rather than in store browsing as a result.

Dude, it's Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I'm going in there this weekend to get pics before destruction.

I find myself wishing I had pics of long closed places like Frys

When it first opened the service there was great. They had mom and pop store attentiveness in a big box. The last 4 times I went into Best Buy no one came to help me and when I found someone they knew jack shite.

Fry’s back in the day was the bomb. Went to the one in suburban Atlanta 20 years ago and I could find pretty much anything I wanted under one roof.

They always used to be great at selling discounted DVDs and Blu-ray’s.

Where are you seeing anything about closings? They aren’t closing the one in Monroe and there are a whole 4 planned for 1Q 23 mainly in NY.

I haven't heard of any closing here but we only have three in the whole city (Louisville) and the Shelbyville Road (East End) one just finished a full remodel.

I don't go to Best Buy often but last time we went was two years ago when we were checking out some Black Friday deals for a new TV and wanted to physically see the TV before purchasing.

If I'm buying anything online that's electronic, it's usually through NewEgg.

All I saw was “all closures so far this year are CA and NY. West side NYC and Chattanooga are the only announced closures upcoming.”

Ironically, my local Fry’s went out of business a few years ago, which was a sad day. The clearance sale was epic though

Just to provide a counterpoint in this thread

I've bought a few things via Best Buy lately (online admittedly) and it was a a good experience - better than Amazon has been lately. Pricing was good, delivery was free and fast (2 day I think).

I know it's kind of weird to sing the praises of a big box store around for decades, but I was surprised because I assumed it was on the way out and it was a pretty good experience. Even more anecdotally, my parents went last weekend to scope out TVs and called me to tell me what a good experience it was.

Whole chain went bust a few years back.

People knew it was coming but didn’t know when simply because they could no longer restock the stores with any regularity.

The stores need to close because of their lousy sales and service. Just make it an online electronic store and compete there.
