..on a jury that was for a big issue? Maybe a murder trial ?

Wasn't on that level, but was on a jury, we found the guy guilty on one count and not guilty on one. Good experience, it's educational.

I judge people often. Does that count?

Was on a civil jury. If I remember correctly, it involved an accident with a school bus.

Was on a jury for a purse theft at a Publix and then possession of drugs (which were in the old ladies purse). We found him guilty. Interesting part was at the end of the trial, the judge instructed us that this person was subject to the habitual offender law (3 strikes) and we had to review the previous convictions to make a "recommendation" if he met that criteria for sentencing. He did.
I didn't keep track of it after that to look back and see what he received at the sentencing hearing.

Jury foreman, 2nd degree murder, guilty. It was not a good experience.

Yes, two years ago I had jury duty for a first-degree armed robbery case. I couldn’t get out of it. The verdict rendered a unanimous guilty verdict as well.

For the people who don't look back on it fondly, why not?

Same. Maybe others feel differently, but I felt a bit ill when I got home when we were done. Hard to explain.

Speak up early and often. Neither side wants a pain in the arse on the jury.

I was exhausted . Actually cried when I got to my truck afterward for all of the lost and wasted lives that crime brought about.
