looks like that FR running back went after him but just pushed the guy

The RB Nate Austin (#29) looked like he was about to do something, but the ref stepped in. Also, Bob Toledo said he made sure no retaliation occured, but if I were one of those teammates you wouldnt have been abled to stop me.

I think everyone is making it out to be worse than it is because Kemp got hurt. I will first say, yes, it should be a penalty, but to suspend the guy is insane. Watching that video, mainly the second view (the broadcast view) I saw/heard a couple things:
1. By the time everyone else had stopped, Hunt's vision was only on the QB since he was blitzing and was already past everyone else.
2. The other LB pulled up at the last second only because Hunt got to the QB before him which abled him to stop easier.
3. For sound purposes, Houston's crowd can get pretty loud surprisingly for one (I would also like to wonder the down situation), and also, that was a very weak whistle blow from the ref. It was kind of hard to hear on the video, and it also depends on which ref blew the whistle on how faint it might of been to the players.
Again, I think he should have been penalized, but to be suspended for that doesn't fit it. If Kemp doesn't get hurt and just gets back up, I think a lot of people would just think he deserved the penalty and nothing more. I also agree that someone on Tulane should have gone after him harder than Austin did

I heard the whistle just fine on the video, and it was a lot of blows. 21 people on the field heard the whistle just fine and stopped playing. The QB was obviously stopping and letting down any guard, which is always a sign of a play being stopped for some reason. This LB ignored it or just didn't give a damn.
The other LB pulled off and ran past the QB when he saw him stopping and heard the whistles. The QB was looking his way so it would have likely been a less vicious hit if that was the player that hit Kemp.
The injury is why this will get spread as much as it will (and it should, I hope it reaches everywhere because of the viciousness of the hit on a defenseless QB when everyone else stopped). The reason this is such an issue is because shite like this needs to be dealt with quickly and harshly to avoid it from happening again. This is the type of shite that will cost kids their careers if there is no punishment.
If nothing happens to this LB, where's the penalty for taking someone out on a similar play in the future? Best player on the other team is a QB? Just run offsides and knock him the frick out. 15 yards, so what, you won't even miss game time and your team has a better chance to win now.
My biggest issue is that 21 of the 22 players on the field, including one other blitzing LB, heard the whistles and stopped, while this one player was reckless enough to blindside someone who had obviously let down his guard while whistles are blowing.

can someone reup the vidoe?

I believe that he should be suspended for at most 1 game, but the people on here saying a whole season are beyond crazy.
I played safety two years in high school (multiple knee injuries cut my career short lol i feel so old saying that), but when you get sent on a blitz, you get this extra burst of adrenaline and you are just looking to hit someone. Also, when you go un-blocked as well, it is one great feeling, so I think he just let his emotions get the best of him.

Give that Hunt kid the Heisman.

I believe that was dirty because it did seem like everyone else heard that whistle. I heard it just fine over the video. Just the way he hit him seemed strange to me as well. To me, it didn't seem like your typical Sack tackle. Maybe that was just me...

A lesson to all future QB's
When you hear the whistle blow like that, throw the ball into the ground immediatley. Peyton Manning has been doing it for years, and teaches it at his camp. If by some chance someone does not hear the whistle (although I think this guy did), they will not hit you if you throw the ball.

perhaps because the guy went high and hit Kemp just under his chin strap?
