My in laws have this one from Farm Lite. I’ve never heard them complain about it. Do you already have power run to the coop? There are some solar options available if not.

I considered going this route, but I like riding out to the coop in the morning to let them out. My kids still really enjoy watching them all run out.

We‘ve used this one for about 4 years now with no issues. You can set times to open/close or base it on light levels.

We've been using this 18 mos.

KEBONNIXS Automatic Chicken Coop Door Opener with Timer & Light Sensor, Including Aluminum Door Kit

Sorry Tried to link and its jumbled from app.

Easy to install. Works fine. Check the batteries often. It gives you a green light when closed but the batteries seem to crash suddenly. We’ve lost 1 chicken where I guess the raccoon lifted up the door and grabbed one. Havent lost another one so dunno. Got tired of closing them up each night. I can sacrifice 1 hen every 18 mos for the convenience.

My cousin had one from CoopTender.com. Ran on electric or battery or both. Dusk to dawn or timed preset. Takes about 1 minute to open or close.

I brought it home to clean it up and reprogram for him. Great customer service on the phone.

I've wanted to get one but my concern would be them not all getting into the coop at dark. They are pretty good about it but sometimes have a straggler hanging right outside the door.

We've used the Run-Chicken door for about 2 years now. Haven't had an issue yet. It works off a photo sensor but allows you to set a timer that's triggered by the light. We delay the opening for an hour after sun up and it closes half hour after dark.

Battery operated. I had to change the battery about 18 months in.

YT of auto coop door

I've had this one for a year. Also have a solar panel, a solar charge monitor, and a lawnmower battery.

Whole system works great as long as there is not something blocking the safety device that prevents closure.
