They have it on CBS News in the waiting room, and listening to Jeff Pegues is like hearing nails on a chalkboard. I know he has spasmodic dysphonia, but it’s time to give him a retirement package and tell him to go home. He’s that much of cringe.

Wouldn’t be giving anyone my business that decides to broadcast MSM but to each their own I guess.

Why do you bring your car to a dealer for maintenance?

It’s new, and I got 6 free oil changes, and tire rotations by negotiating the deal. Try it sometime. They will gladly do it to make the sale.

I took my Lexus to jiffy lube a few month ago. Over the next week, there was a drop of oil on the driveway every time I parked. Took it back to Jiffy lube for them to check out and they couldn't find anything. Took it to my old mechanic and he tightened the oil plug, because it was loose.

Jiffy Lube - $110
Mechanic - $36

At the Lexus dealer, I buy a package of 5 oil changes for $600 and I never have any trouble with some dipshit he/she not tightening the oil plug the first time and not being able to figure out which one of the two things he/she touched might still be leaking if I bring it back. The dealer also rotates my tires, inspects my car, fills the wiper fluid, and gives me a 2023 Lexus to drive while they work on my car. When I get back, they give me a list of any issues with the car for me to take to my mechanic to have fixed for half the price of the dealer. That's why I have my maintenance done by the dealer.

Synthetic. It's a hybrid with 450 HP, combined IC and electric. Got a great price on it at the end of the Trump administration when gas was low, and I wanted to try the technology. I was planning on trading it in last year, but will hang on to it a little longer. 45 MPG is nice on vacations and driving to the big city.

I'd rather spend $60 at Valvoline and be out of there in 15 minutes, or go to Discount Tire *any day.* What you're describing has almost no cost to the dealership. You didn't win.

You negotiated a deal over $500 of routine maintenance that you could shop around at roughly 900 locations within 50 miles of you?

One of the CBS Morning news guys today was talking about the California shootings. Showed the gun used was a MAC 10. BUT the bold statement was that the firearm was NOT REGISTERED
