I have a few delta airlines free drink vouchers expiring next week on 1/31. I rarely use them because I get upgraded. If you want any just let me know an email to send them to. It will be a screenshot of it.

Flights from MSY/BTR- ATL don’t have main cabin drink service so just FYI.

I'm surprised by the BTR-MSY flights. I know the 757 on MSY-ATL is much larger but a CR9 with a block time of 1h 40m should have no issues with running a full service.

Last few times I took the route, which mind you 90% of my travel originated at MSY, they did the water/coffee service in main. I won’t use them at all so if someone wants to try go for it.

Hell I just burned a regional upgrade on MSY-ATL-BNA. I also have a companion buy one/get one expiring next week. I can’t use it so if someone can use that I have that to share as well.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have the 2 for 1 expiring as well, I think I used all of my coupons but i may have 1-2 left if there are more takers here.

Everything I have this month is on UA

LOL I fly UA tomorrow for the first time in 5 years. I have silver through my marriott ambassador status. I checked in and was 18th on the upgrade list. Thought this sucks to be poor.

That said I am really questing DAL. I am 10 years as Diamond and almost 2MM. The prices are outrageous. Service is still above average and on time flights keeps me loyal. But transatlantic D1 recently has been very subpar.

I am climbing Kilimanjaro later this year and first class on AA/UAL is ungodly cheaper. I may status match and go from there. The new Diamond spend threshold will have me close as I am usually 18-19k. Who knows.

Your experience lately?

I was DFW based for a long time and recently switched to AUS. Was AA Plat Pro for many years pre-COVID but they finally pissed me off so much that I switched all my flying over to Delta and United.

The only thing I miss about AA is that AAdvantage miles are infinitely more valuable to me than UA and especially DL SkyPesos, especially for partner redemptions.

Being AUS based now it is easier to stomach leaving American as almost everything requires a connection. Though, they are trying to make a play for AUS and have some very cheap fares out of here with an expanded route network.

As for TATL flying, I've got 4 flights booked for this year and not one is on a US carrier, going 2x KLM, 1x AF and 1x BA.

Look into an Alaska match as they are part of OneWorld as well. I'm not sure what matching offers are out right now though.

My company is “based” out of AUS. We don’t have an office but that is where our owner lives. We had a hell of a binger in Dripping Springs in November. I felt bad for the people on my AUS-MSY flight because I bet every row could smell me.

So my daughter is at TCU and therefore I fly MSY-DFW reasonably often. I love the prices for the miles on AA. I am open to credit cards and will spend north of $150k a year on it. I hate the 500 mile certs (which I think they did away with) and I hate the shitty on time arrivals for AAL. I am a Diamond so I am sure they match that at like platinum pro. I can’t imagine they do an exec plat match.

Could you sell me on American? Or have you seen anything on UAL worth the leap?

Tried to give away my 3 drink coupons yesterday on MSP-SEA, no one wanted to drink. Between me and the other two people in my row we had 11 coupons expiring 1/31

I could never sell you on AA, my least favorite of the big 3. Maybe H20 can do it though...

I can’t sell you on AA. Only value is their miles for partner bookings. I’m flying AUS-IAH-DFW on Thursday to avoid AA entirely.

No. I’m DFW based and Exec Platinum and I still hate them.

Hope this helps.

As someone who only gets to fly once every couple years, I gotta ask. How many times do you all fly to get buy one get one tickets and drink coupons? Is it something mainly for people who fly multiple times a month?

On Delta they are perks for reaching a certain status level.
Weirdly, once you reach that level, upgrades to at comfort + is common where the drinks are free.
Hence the unused vouchers.

So at that point, they would love for you to get your friends and family flying with them to use those unused vouchers. I can see where the benefit to that would be.

One day, I would love to sit down and interview people who travel all the time for business and write a book of the stories you don't hear about. Getting to know the flight attendants, drinking with pilots, flying into a meeting and going straight back to the airport and flying somewhere else.. things like that.

Possibly. I’m not sure airlines are too much above the government when it comes to creative thinking.

True.

I was thinking of flying my wife and kids to DC or something during mardi gras week. Reading about everyone's travels makes me want to cave in and do it instead of just driving somewhere closer to louisiana. I'm sure the prices would be higher this close to it and that weekend is a time when many people are flying in for mardi gras and flying out to get away from it. So if I end up dropping a ton of money to fly, it's all of yalls fault! Thanks for the continued input a lot of yall give to everyone on this board. It is appreciatated even by us who don't comment a lot or have the means to travel as much. The pictures and advice posted over the years has helped out a lot.
