It's not so much that he got caught, it's that he really wasn't even trying to even attempt to hide it.

The NCAA knew rampant cheating was going on all over, and for the most part will let it go under the guise of ignorance, but if you are so brazen about it like Wade was, you're going to get the hammer dropped on you.

You’re missing my point that it’s more than just a few player, it’s the whole organization. Who is left the previous regime, Tasmin only right?

It this team were playing hard and just getting outmanned, you’d have an argument. What about Florida’s new coach, Mizzou’s new coach? They seem to be able to field competitive teams year 1. Why is MM different?

I don’t disagree. But I conceded earlier in the thread that the circumstances were a little unusual.

FBI probing the league is not what anyone would call a typical environment. Kind of unprecedented and (not coincidentally IMO) how he got exposed.

Truly believe it’s ridiculous luck more than anything else… absurd timing (see NIL) is just salt in the wound.

It was absolutely terrible luck. Put a phone tap on most power five coach’s phones, and they’re a lot more folks in the same position.

He was in New Orleans just months ago having God damned tryouts man.

He’s got multiple top 100 players and 6 guys that have played significant minutes in NCAA tournament wins. And no, he didn’t have open tryouts to fill this roster.

Hell, in May the rant (or at least the Woodward boot lickers) were raving at the great job he did rebuilding the roster. Some even claimed it was more talented than last year.

So now the goalpost have moved again?

You think I’m arguing that everything is fine and dandy right now. I’m not. Idk the situations at Florida and Missouri, but like I said, sometimes it’s a seamless transition, sometimes it’s not, but I’m giving it more than 18 games.

I’m sure he’s loving not getting paid and not being employable and being a terrible cheater in a sport where everyone cheats & never gets caught lol

He has lost a locker room full of older players. Several of them are his guys. This is extremely concerning, it is less than just not being seamless. This guy is in over his head.

Stop with this lost the locker room talk. People throw that out there all the time because it’s a catch-all for bad play.

What is the catch all for a PG who has been with the coach for 4 years walking away….

This has all the signs of a coach losing his team. Very little effort, no enthusiasm, no leadership, no energy. Played sports for a long time, followed sports for a long time, this has the classic signs.

We can ignore it and give him a mulligan for the first year, but the leash needs to be much shorter. Especially since we aren’t making any great strides on the recruiting trail.

Did they start with zero players and zero recruits?
Did they start under the cloud of NCAA sanctions?

Those are two biggies.

This team has regressed and he’s failed to develop the talent he has. That has nothing to do with the “cloud” of sanctions.

Turning over 9 players isn’t drastic anymore. Hell, Arkansa turned over 10 this year.

He’s failed to develop the talent he has and the team has regressed just since starting conference. Now he’s lost a PG that has been with him for 4 years. Lots of signs he’s lost the locker room.

Making all the excuses you want, there are a ton of red flags that he’s over his head.

I love overreaction in a coaches first year after he replaced a whole team.

There's no talent, that's the issue.

Have they really regressed or did they go from playing really bad teams to good teams in the sec? No way the competition could be responsible for some of this.
