If so, what was your strategy?

I have precheck so I get to go through the metal detectors. Thin plastic bottles can hide all kinds of stuff.

southwest is usually pretty liberal with giving away alcohol in my experience.

i've probably got two drinks off of their CC machine not working (despite trying to pay after we landed) and half a dozen due to the FAs having to sit due to turbulence. i've never tried to get one for free but if they can't charge right then, they DGAF. probably 4 or so off of being forced to sit on the tarmac.

I recently found out bringing your own nip is illegal on an airplane.

Plan for the best and prepare for the worst.

Pack a couple of these filled with your favorite spirit in your carry on.

i have never once tried to get any for free, but if i can't find my coupon or they don't have the CC reader with them, they laugh and move on.

I get a drink when I board the plane #firstclass. However, getting them to re-fill it during a tarmac delay is not always a given. It depends on the flight attendant. I fly Delta

You can pack actual airplane bottles in your carry-on.

You still need to be somewhat discreet if you drink them in flight.

Be in first class IF I have to fly commercial. Otherwise, don't get on the plane until the crew knows we are going to get cleared for departure.
