Dart was ok, but not great this season. Next season will be his third. So it's likely he either decides to enter the draft or doesn't perform well enough to secure the starting job for the following year.

I presume Howard was looking at two more seasons of sitting at LSU with Daniels returning for next season and Nussmeier presumably taking the reigns the following year.

Or, it could have been the kid just didn't like the LSU program, or a coach, or a wide variety of reasons. I was never as high on him as a prospect as many on here (I think he's small and doesn't really have the overwhelming physical traits to overcome that), but I'm not going to criticize a kid for doing what he thinks is best for HIS life.

That's really great of you and all, and fans aren't entitled to anything. This is still both a soft move and just cheesy as frick

Oh he didn’t like a coach alright. The one that told him he probably needed to look else for playing time because his odds of ever being a starter at LSU was looking pretty slim. The real reason is out there if you know where to listen. There’s a reason he ended up at a program like Ole Miss (who has a history of taking a specific type of player especially at the QB position). No other program wanted him.

The way Kelly handles players reminds me of Mainieri. High priority to playing safe and limiting mistakes over explosive offense. And a bluntness with players that often backfires.

There is a big difference between getting second team reps and third team. Howard probably left because he didn’t want to run scout team in his second year. Plus, he is looking at not starting at LSU until his 5th year. He is a year ahead of that at Ole Miss - at worst.
