Looking to add some heat to my ramen game. Sriracha is not the answer. Other hot sauces give a vinegar taste to the broth. Open to suggestions.

I guess I will go against the grain with the first two responses and say dont go chili oil. It doesnt add much to a dish besides adding unnecessary spice with little to no flavor.

Soji in Baton Rogue does this. Oh hey lets make a dish spicy, just dump chili oil on it!

Hot sesame oil or jalapeño slices

Me’s ways brand chili crunch has some fish sauce in it. Superior to the bland stuff that’s all palm oil and chili flake

I like sambal or chili garlic sauce for added heat in my asian dishes.

You may want to try Lao Gan Ma Chili Crisp.

It's a chili oil that has other spices and aromatics that works well with numerous Asian dishes, especially noodles.

Be forewarned, it's addictive...

This. Sambal Olek to be exact. Or Huy Fong Garlic Chili Sauce.

ETA: Fresh sliced jalapeños with the seeds left in will also bring a good bit of heat. Don’t used canned or pickled jalapeños.

I just discovered chili crisp, though they say it's been "hot" for a while. It is good on damned near everything, and many use it to spice up a soup.

Vinh Phat. Asian Supermarket

Want something with good flavor and heat, get a jar of Saté from the Asian store.

FDB Friends.

I am happy to announce that as of yesterday, the Walmart in Covington (the "Big" Walmart) carries Lao Gan Ma Chili Crisp, and priced a good bit less than the Hong Kong Mart on the westbank.

Needless to say this condiment is so good that I wanted to share this here with you good people.
