100+ tackle guy 3 straight seasons, 20 TFLs, 10 Sacks in his career. Team captain at Virginia last 2 years. Coaches praise his football IQ and leadership. Been in the portal for awhile. Would be an excellent addition.

The fact he's been in the portal as long as he has and there's been zero buzz about him with LSU isn't a good sign on Jackson.
And it's weird, because you would think he would work for us. He's a senior, so he doesn't push the two juniors out of ever being able to start, and he gives you the ability to play three linebackers with experience or even start opposite Penn if you want to line Perkins up at the Jack.
Something about him doesn't work for us, I guess. Dunno what it is.

I thought I read he is waiting to graduate from Virginia in the spring semester. Maybe why he isn’t in a rush to commit somewhere.

NJ is within this one semester of getting his degree from Virginia. That paper plays anywhere. That semester gives him some time to let the football part work itself out.
He's in no rush football wise, nor does he need to be.
Kid is going to graduate with a Marketing degree.
From the looks of things, he's learned well. Starting with the Marketing of himself!
Every major program would take this kid. Best ILB in the Portal this year by a pretty far taste.
LSU offers the PHD in Business with concentration in Marketing he needs for Grad School.
Football offers him coaching by a DC who has recent experience with and has been considered an up and coming NFL LB Coach.
And he can become a legend in this unique region while competing for a Natty versus the best there is in College Football.
Come to the Boot, Jack!

They are not doing anything wrong. They are showing that they are committed to buying the best team possible. It may or may not work out for them, but they have the commitment from boosters to try.

FSU and Auburn doing work. Welcome back to college football. NIL is truly changing the game. As far as your post goes nothing because everyone is doing it. Pay up or fall behind. I don’t like it but it ain’t changing so you got to get onboard or fall behind.

Yall also have to realize both Auburn and FSU aren't recruiting out of HS at a high level right now therefore they can afford to pay up more to transfers. Neither team was even in top 15.

Basically this, they’re trying to play catch-up with an LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State, etc in terms of talent. They’re throwing money at almost all positions. LSU and others are cerebral and addressing simple areas where more depth is needed. Various levels to it.

Should be the #1 target in the portal and the only MUST GET. ILB will be the biggest weakness in 2023 if they don’t get this one.
Perkins would be forced to play ILB too early and it would probably dampen his effect on the field if they don’t get an experienced and elite ILB.
Could Perkins step up and be great at ILB? Sure, it’s his projected future position. but that’s the QB of the defense and requires elite understanding of the system. Idk if he’s ready for that just yet.
