Woodward's relationship with Emmert got Wade fired. Without that, he could tell the NCAA to go blank off like KU, UNC, and others have done in the past. Use the sway we have in football to protect the basketball. It's tough to play hardball with family members though. Especially in high profile sports.

You Wade frick boys can wrestle with the truth of that all you want to.
You Woodward "frick Boys" can cover for a while, but eventually the record will speak for itself.
Curious, how soon do you believe McMahon will have a better record than Wade, or build the same excitement in the program.
In your lifetime?
I'm not critical of McMahon. He is doing his best. It's very difficult to build a program in the SEC. Count the number of coaches who have come and gone in the SEC in the last ten years.
I've been a fan for decades. Dale Brown built the program. When he left no one of stature was interested in the job. Brady was given the job by default. He did a great job, but not good enough for the fans. When he had a couple of injuries, the year after the final four team, the record dropped. The fans were outraged and the AD caved. Unfortunately the ADs/Politicians consistently screw it up.

John Brady did a much better job than Wade, because he actually knew the finer points of the game.
This statement right just shows how frickin dumb majority of lsu basketball “fans” are.

And we might lose the opener.
Why don't you just join the Seminole nation then. We don't need fake fans like you.

Why are people trying to start this fake narrative? It’s categorically untrue
...No it's not. Will Wade's actions resulted in a completely decimated roster. There is absolutely zero conceivable way you could possibly argue that Will Wade left this program in a good spot. He left the program with one player and sanctions lmfao.
If you think that it's untrue that Wade left the cupboard bare, then you must think that Coach O left us with a ready-made dynasty, because the football program was in MUCH better shape post-O than the basketball program was in post-wade.
Anyone with two braincells to rub together knows that coaching LSU to a successful 2022-23 season was an impossible task for any coach. McMahon had to cobble this roster together from complete scratch. If you want to judge him, fine, but it is absolutely nonsensical to give him negative marks for the on-court performance thus far.

John Brady did a much better job than Wade,
Are you talking to the A-holes that complained for a season wanting Brady fired, even after he went to a final four and then lost key players to injuries the following season. Like Wade, he had just recruited/signed an outstanding group of freshmen. Johnson won the SEC with that group.
Well, why did they leave? Both loved LSU. They were both successful, after inheriting a program at the bottom.
Maybe, just maybe, management is to blame.
