Living in Louisiana seems like a 3rd world war zone experience from an outside perspective.

They do test PSVs out there but I doubt it would be loud enough to rattle most of geismar. Their test stands are loud but not THAT loud.

Ah, the weekly “did a plant blow up” thread.
There are times we need a boom boom board.

plenty of nice homes in Geismar
I worked there for 5 years.
I’m aware.
I’m also aware that it’s next to a bunch of plants, and it smells like chemicals outside.

Former Vulcan Materials, I think now Oxy acid plant used to have a large rupture disc on a column that would go out monthly, spewing a close of hydrochloric acid which usually passed over Shell Chemical in a cloud.

I worked at Siemens, behind gold club.
One night our carbon monoxide alarms went off.
All our shop guys had to go to the hospital for exposure. There’s a carbon monoxide plant behind air liquide. No notification from them saying they’re going to release CO. It was pretty fricked up.

It makes syngas or hydrogen and CO. Both used in chemical processes or if only hydrogen is needed the CO is used as boiler fuel.

True
I’ll take our meth labs in the LP over the chemical plants in your backyard in Ascension.
