And is there not a possibility that elsewhere in the state there may actually be districts and perhaps even “regions” where the judiciary is fine?
Meh
Most people who start out good give it up quickly b/c being a judge is much more like being a bureaucrat than a jurist. And that's performing the job. Don't ignore how they're really politicians at heart.
I've gone in front of judges literally across this state (funny enough, never in Orleans and like 3-4x in EBR) and at least half, as I said earlier, I wouldn't consider hiring as an associate.
Rural judges are just as bad, if not worse, than what I've heard about Orleans judges. They're typically very biased, unread, and protect the home turf. They're more employees of the local DAs office and lost outside of that realm.

Sounds like an impairment of contracts.
Be a damned shame if there was a binding document that prohibits that.
Oh...and if anticompetitive business activity is such a concern, why isn't the FTC looking into trade-unionism?

Well, you’re still ignoring other places throughout the state beyond what you’ve listed. Lincoln Parish has more than two. But less than four. Lol Ouachita Parish, 11 elected judges. I’m sure similar in Rapides. Calcasieu. Plenty robust enough judiciaries and bars to consider in the equation of the overall “state judiciary”.
Yea. It just doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things that Lincoln Parish’s 4 judges are decent. (Which I doubt they are—as SFP said most rural judges are shitty in their own way. And Rapides/Calcaseiu are also shitty)
The only people who will applaud the State’s judiciary is the plaintiff’s bar and their clients. No one else has positive things to say. Individual judges? Sure. There are some good people on the bench. The overwhelming majority? Total idiots who pander to their political constituency and have no knowledge or concern for the law whatsoever.

Continuing to reference Rush is not going to make me understand what you are talking about.

A friend of mine owns a business and just won a case where a company was started by a few former employees who were in direct competition with him. They went after his clients which they only knew about from working for him. He had NDAs as well as NCs signed. He won but imagine how much weaker his case would be without a NC. Why should he be exposed to losing his business just to "protect employees" as you called it?
Why were the clients eager to swap over to the former employees?

It's almost always price/cost in these scenarios

I disagree. I think it is usually the former employees are the ones that the customer ends up having the business relationship with and feel no allegiance to the owner of the existing business.

Coincidence... my son is reading aloud in the next room and chapter two of the book is titled "Moving Pictures."
Far out man.

Cool. I also don’t know what you are talking about there either.
I don’t give a frick about Rush, and obviously won’t get any reference you make to them.

What if we told you Rush was a Canadian band, bet you’d love them then, wouldn’t you, commie?
I’m shooting for 50% success rate on proper identification of this as tongue in cheek, sarcasm.

Inherently? You are correct.
However If I am an employer, and you sign a document committing you to be my employee that outline your roles and responsibilities, I absolutely have the right to restrain whatever the hell I want within the terms of our agreement.
Don’t sign it if you aren’t willing to abide by it.

Yea we’re in the weeds I guess. Nothing Canada or communism related is relevant here.
You hate liberty and/or think the average person is too stupid to understand their employment agreement. I do not.
